I 1 Work. The Contractor shall perform the Work according to these supplemental Drawings 2 and explanations. I 3 4 In addition to supplemental Drawings furnished by the Engineer, the Contract Documents 5 may also be supplemented by Shop Drawings prepared by the Contractor, material I 6 7 supplier, or manufacturer, when necessary or as required by the Contract Documents to detail and illustrate portions of the Work. Shop Drawings shall be reviewed by the Engineer 8 before any Work pursuant to those Shop Drawings is performed. Shop Drawings may 9 include, but may not be limited to: shop details; erection plans; masonry lay-out diagrams; I 10 reinforcing steel and bending diagrams; post tensioning plans; shoring, cribbing, cofferdam, 11 or falsework plans; formwork plans, or hydraulic items. Catalog cuts or Standard Plans for 12 commonly used manufactured items will be considered as Shop Drawings. I 13 14 Unless otherwise requested by the Engineer, the Contractor shall submit six (6) complete 15 sets of Shop Drawings directly to the Engineer for review and approval. If the Design I 16 Engineer is a full time employee of the City, the Contractor may expect ten (10) working 17 days from submission for review and return of comments. If the Design Engineer is not a 18 full time employee of the City, the Contractor should expect thirty calendar days from 19 submission for review and return of comments. The Engineer may extend this time for I 20 good cause by notifying the Contractor. The Engineer will check and return three (3) copies 21 of such Drawings. On all submittals of a Drawing after the Drawing's initial submittal and 22 return, the Contractor shall: make any corrections required by the Engineer; expressly and I 23 24 explicitly notify the Engineer in writing of any and all deviations from the Specifications and all revisions other than the corrections called for by the Engineer on previous submittals; 25 and return three (3) corrected copies of the Drawings for the Engineer's further review. The I 26 Contractor shall plan on at least ten (10) working days from the date of Engineer's receipt 27 for the Engineer's review, comment, and return of submitted Drawings. Some Shop 28 Drawings may require more than six (6) copies. The Contractor shall furnish additional 29 copies when requested. I 30 31 The Contractor shall be fully responsible for the accuracy of dimensions and details on 32 Shop Drawings, and for complete conformity with the Contract Documents, even if the I 33 34 Shop Drawings have been approved by the Engineer, or if the Contractor and the Engineer agree on dimensions and details. The City does not accept Shop Drawings as accurate or 35 adequate, and does not take responsibility for, or warrant that Shop Drawings will meet I 36 Contract requirements. 37 38 The Engineer's review of Shop Drawings shall not relieve Contractor from responsibility for 39 any variation from the requirements of the Contract Documents unless the Contractor has I 40 in writing called the Engineer's attention to each such variation at the time of submission, 41 and the Engineer has given written approval of each such variation by a specific written 42 notation thereof incorporated in or accompanying the returned Shop Drawing; nor will any I 43 review by Engineer relieve Contractor from responsibility for errors or omissions in the 44 Shop Drawings or from responsibility for having complied with the provisions of this 45 Section. I 46 47 The Bid prices shall include all costs for furnishing Shop Drawings and submittals. 48 49 Deviations from Standard Plans will be subject to a Shop Drawing submitted by the I 50 Contractor and approved by the Engineer.
