Proposed pesticide use in accordance with Section 8-02.3(3)A: name, <br /> 3 application rate, and Safety Data Sheets of all proposed pesticides. <br /> 4 Include a copy of the current product label for each pesticide to be used. <br /> 5 <br /> 6 5. Plan to ensure worker safety until pesticide re-entry periods are met. <br /> 7 <br /> 8 8-02.3(2)C Plant Establishment Plan <br /> 9 The Plant Establishment Plan shall describe activities necessary to ensure <br /> 10 continued health and vigor of planted and seeded areas in accordance with the <br /> I <br /> 11 requirements of Sections 8-02.3(12) and 8-02.3(13). Should the plan become <br /> 12 unworkable at any time during the first-year plant establishment, the Contractor <br /> 13 shall submit a revised plan prior to proceeding with further Work. The Plant I <br /> 14 Establishment Plan shall include: <br /> 15 <br /> 16 1. Proposed scheduling of joint inspection meetings, activities, materials, t <br /> 17 equipment to be utilized for the first-year plant establishment. <br /> 18 <br /> 19 2. Proposed adaptive management activities to ensure successful <br /> 20 establishment of seeded, sodded, and planted areas. <br /> I <br /> 21 <br /> 22 3. A contact person. <br /> 23 <br /> I <br /> 24 4. Management of the irrigation system, when applicable. <br /> 25 <br /> 26 8-02.3(3) Weed and Pest Control <br /> 27 The Contractor shall control weed and pest species within the project limits using <br /> 28 integrated pest management principles consisting of mechanical, biological, and <br /> 29 chemical controls that are outlined in the Weed and Pest Control Plan or as designated <br /> 30 by the Engineer. Controlling weeds consists of killing and removing weeds by <br /> 31 chemical, mechanical, and hand methods. <br /> 32 <br /> 33 8-02.3(3)A Chemical Pesticides <br /> 34 Chemical pesticides include, but are not restricted to, any substance or mixture of <br /> 35 substances intended for preventing, destroying, repelling or mitigating any pest, <br /> 36 including but not limited to, insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, adjuvants, and t <br /> 37 additives, including plant regulators, defoliants and desiccants. The Contractor <br /> 38 shall apply chemical pesticides in accordance with the label recommendations, <br /> 39 the Washington State Department of Ecology, local sensitive area ordinances, and <br /> 40 Washington State Department of Agriculture laws and regulations. Only those <br /> 41 pesticides listed in the table Herbicides Approved for Use on WSDOT Rights of <br /> 42 Way and accepted as part of the Weed and Pest Control Plan or by written <br /> 43 authorization from the Engineer may be used <br /> 44 (wvvw.wsdot.wa.gov/maintenance/roadside/herbicide_use.htm). <br /> 45 <br /> 46 The applicator shall be licensed by the State of Washington as a Commercial <br /> 47 Applicator or Commercial Operator, with additional endorsements as required by <br /> 48 the Special Provisions or the proposed weed control plan. All chemical pesticides <br /> 49 shall be delivered to the job site in the original containers, or if pre-mixed off-site, a <br /> 50 certification of the components and formulation from the supplier is required.
