I <br /> I1 Commercial Pesticide Application Record, each day pesticideapplied is a lied and <br /> 2 furnish a copy to the Engineer by the following business day. <br /> t 3 <br /> 4 The Contractor shall ensure confinement of the chemicals within the designated <br /> 5 areas. The use of spray chemical pesticides shall require the use of anti-drift and <br /> I 6 activating agents and a spray pattern indicator unless otherwise allowed by the <br /> 7 Engineer. <br /> 8 <br /> 9 The Contractor shall assume all responsibility for rendering any area <br /> 10 unsatisfactory for planting by reason of chemical application. Damage to adjacent <br /> 11 areas, either on or off the Highway Right of Way, shall be repaired to the <br /> 12 satisfaction of the Engineer or the property owner at no additional cost to the <br /> I 13 Contracting Agency. <br /> 14 <br /> 15 8-02.3(3)B Planting and Lawn Area Weed Control <br /> I 16 Planting and lawn area weed control consists of controlling weeds and pests in <br /> 17 planted and lawn areas shown in the Plans. This Work is included in the bid items <br /> 18 for planting and lawn installation. <br /> 19 <br /> 20 All planting and lawn areas shall be prepared so that they are weed and debris <br /> 21 free at the time of planting and until completion of the project. The planting areas <br /> 22 shall include the entire ground surface, regardless of cover, areas around plants, <br /> I 23 and those areas shown in the Plans. <br /> 24 <br /> 25 Within planting or lawn areas, all species that are not shown in the Plans are <br /> I <br /> 26 <br /> 27 unwanted and shall be controlled unless specifically allowed by the Engineer to <br /> remain. <br /> 28 <br /> 29 Grass growing within the mulch ring of a plant, including grass applied in <br /> 30 accordance with Sections 8-01.3(2)A1, 8-02.3(9) or 8-02.3(10), shall be <br /> 31 considered a weed and shall be controlled on the project in accordance with the <br /> 32 weed and pest control plan. <br /> I <br /> 33 <br /> 34 All applications of post-emergent herbicides shall be made while green and <br /> 35 growing tissue is present. Residual herbicides shall not be used where <br /> I 36 rhizomatous species or perennial species are indicated. <br /> 37 <br /> 38 Should unwanted vegetation reach the flowering and seed stage in violation of <br /> 39 these Specifications, the Contractor shall physically remove and bag the seed <br /> 40 heads prior to seed dispersion. All physically removed vegetation and seed heads <br /> 41 shall be disposed of off-site at no cost to the Contracting Agency. <br /> 42 <br /> 43 8-02.3(3)C Project Area Weed and Pest Control <br /> 44 The Contractor shall control weeds not otherwise covered in accordance with <br /> 45 Section 8-02.3(3)B, in all areas within the project limits, including erosion control <br /> I 46 <br /> 47 seeding areas and vegetation preservation areas, as designated by the Engineer. <br /> 48 When the Bid Item "Project Area Weed and Pest Control" is included in the <br /> 49 Contract, the Contractor shall also control all weeds specified as noxious by the <br /> I 50 Washington State Department of Agriculture, the local Weed District, or the County <br /> 51 Noxious Weed Control Board outside of planting areas within the project limits. <br /> I City of EverettPage AM 89 Amendments <br /> Everett Station 80 Stall Parking Expansion June 2019 <br />
