The mowings shall be done in <br /> 2 accordance with Section 8-O2.3(1O)D. <br /> 3 <br /> 4 During the lawn establishment period, the Contractor shall ensure the continuing <br /> I 5 healthy growth of the turf. This care shall include keeping the project in a <br /> 6 presentable condition including, but not limited to, removal of litter, mowing, <br /> 7 trimming, removal of grass clippings, edging, fertilization, insecticide and <br /> I 8 fungicide applications, weed control, watering, repairing the irrigation system, <br /> 9 and repair and reseeding all damaged areas. <br /> 10 <br /> Ii 1 Temporary barriers shall be removed only when directed by the Engineer. <br /> 12 <br /> 13 All Work performed under lawn establishment shall comply with established turf <br /> 14 management practices. <br /> I 15 <br /> 16 Acceptance of lawn planting as specified will be based on a uniform stand of <br /> 17 grass and a uniform grade at the time of final inspection. The Contractor shall <br /> 18 recultivate, re-grade, reseed, and refertilize areas that are bare or have a poor <br /> 19 stand of grass or not having a uniform grade through any cause before final <br /> 20 inspection at no additional cost to the Contracting Agency. <br /> I 21 <br /> 22 8-O2.3(1O)D Lawn Mowing <br /> 23 Lawn mowing shall begin immediately after the lawn establishment period has <br /> 24 been accepted by the Engineer and shall extend to the end of the Contract or <br /> 25 the first-year plant establishment, whichever is last. <br /> 26 <br /> 27 The Contractor shall accomplish the following minimum requirements: <br /> I 28 <br /> 29 1. Mow, trim, and edge as often as conditions dictate, at a minimum, once <br /> 30 per week between April and September. Maximum height of lawn shall <br /> I 31 <br /> 32 not exceed 3 inches. The cutting height shall be 2 inches. Cuttings, <br /> trimmings, and edgings shall be disposed of off the project site. When <br /> 33 the Engineer allows the use of a mulching mower, trimmings may be <br /> 34 left in place. <br /> I 35 <br /> 36 2. Water as often as conditions dictate depending on weather and soil <br /> 37 conditions. <br /> I 38 <br /> 39 3. Provide fertilizer, weed control, water, and other measures as <br /> 40 necessary to establish and maintain a healthy stand of grass, <br /> 41 <br /> 42 8-02.3(11) Mulch <br /> 43 Mulches associated with seeding and planting shall be of the type specified in the <br /> 44 Special Provisions or as indicated in the Plans. The Contractor shall evenly apply <br /> I 45 mulch at the rates indicated in the Plans.
