I <br /> I 1 6-09.AP6 <br /> 2 Section 6-09, Modified Concrete Overlays <br /> 3 January 7, 2019 <br /> I 4 6-09.3 Construction Requirements <br /> 5 This section is supplemented with the following new subsection: <br /> 6 <br /> I <br /> 7 <br /> 8 6-09.3(15) Sealing and Texturing Concrete Overlay <br /> After the requirements for checking for bond have been met, all joints and visible cracks <br /> 9 shall be filled and sealed with a high molecular weight methacrylate resin (HMWM). <br /> I 10 Cracks 1/16 inch and greater in width shall receive two applications of HMWM. <br /> 11 Immediately following the application of HMWM, the wetted surface shall be coated with <br /> 12 sand for abrasive finish. <br /> 13 <br /> I14 After all cracks have been filled and sealed and the HMWM resin has cured, the concrete <br /> 15 overlay surface shall receive a longitudinally sawn texture in accordance with Section 6- <br /> 16 02.3(10)D5. <br /> I 17 <br /> 18 Traffic shall not be permitted on the finished concrete until it has reached a minimum <br /> 19 compressive strength of 3,000 psi as verified by rebound number determined in <br /> U <br /> 20 accordance with ASTM C805 and the longitudinally sawn texture is completed. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 6-09.3(1)B Rotary Milling Machines <br /> P23This section is revised to read: <br /> 24 <br /> 25 Rotary milling machines used to remove an upper layer of existing concrete overlay, when <br /> 26 present, shall have a maximum operating weight of 50,000 pounds and conform to Section <br /> 27 6-08.3(5)B. <br /> 28 <br /> 29 6-09.3(1)C Hydro-Demolition Machines <br /> I 30 The first sentence of this section is revised to read: <br /> 31 <br /> 32 Hydro-demolition machines shall consist of filtering and pumping units operating in <br /> I 33 conjunction with a remote-controlled robotic device, using high-velocity water jets to <br /> 34 remove sound concrete to the nominal scarification depth shown in the Plans with a single <br /> 35 pass of the machine, and with the simultaneous removal of deteriorated concrete. <br /> 1 37 6-09.3(1)D Shot Blasting Machines <br /> 38 This section, including title, is revised to read: <br /> 39 <br /> I <br /> 40 6-09.3(1)D Vacant <br /> 41 <br /> 42 6-09.3(1)E Air Compressor <br /> I 43 This section is revised to read: <br /> 44 <br /> 45 Air compressors shall be equipped with oil traps to eliminate oil from being blown onto the <br /> 46 bridge deck. <br /> 47 <br /> 48 6-09.3(1)J Finishing Machine <br /> 49 This section is revised to read: <br /> 50 <br /> ICITY OF EVERETT AMENDMENTS <br /> PACIFIC AVENUE TO INTERURBAN TRAIL BICYCLE SAFETY PROJECT 8/12/2019 <br /> I <br /> STATE FUND#HLP PB17(014): COE#PW3688 Page AM-59 <br />
