• Seattle,Washington.
111T www.paclan206.522.9510d.com
TURNING VISIONS INTO REALITY
pesticides and herbicides. If chemicals are needed, the landscape maintenance contractor
shall comply with manufacturer guidelines.
Activity A4.4 — Storage of Solid Wastes and Food Wastes
Summary of Required BMPs:
Solid and food waste must be stored in suitable containers with leak-proof lids. Employees
must check for leaks frequently. Additionally, catch basins on the property that receive
drainage from the waste storage area must be cleaned out.
Proposed Methods to Comply with Required BMPs:
The project will utilize a compactor that is fully enclosed, with internal drainage routed to
the sanitary sewer system as needed. Organic waste will be collected in metal trash bins,
with leak-proof lids. The catch basins that receive drainage from this organic waste area
will be included in the on-site operation and maintenance requirements, which will note
the requirement listed above to clean out the catch basins.
111 Activity A4.10 — Storage of Pesticides, Fertilizers, or other products that can leach
pollutants
Summary of Required BMPs:
Employees must be trained on the proper storage, handling, application and disposal of
fertilizers and pesticides. Additionally storage areas of pollutants and treated lumber must
be covered and drain to a sump or a holding tank for cleaning once a year.
Proposed Methods to Comply with Required BMPs:
p P
Based on initial coordination, the proposed garden center will address this item in one of
two ways: (1) All external storage of products that can leach pollutants will be covered
and drain to a sump as required or (2) all products that can leach pollutants will be stored
inside and not exposed to stormwater.
Activity A4.9 — Parking and Storage for Vehicles and Equipment
No additional "Activity Specific BMPs" are required for this activity due to the fact that the
project is not classified as a high-use site per Volume I, Chapter 4.3 of the manual. The
project Traffic Assessment, by the Transpo Group, estimates the site will generate
approximately 53 daily trips. This is less than the high use site classification of 100 daily
trips.
Activity A5.2 — Building Repair, Remodeling, and Construction
Summary of Required BMPs:
Employees must be educated on the pollution hazards of site activities and trained in spill
control procedures. Spill cleanup materials must be available at all times onsite. The site
must be cleaned up and swept at the end of each workday. No substance, other than
water only, can be dumped on the pavement or toward storm drains. In summary,
generally good 'housekeeping' must be practiced at all times during construction.
Proposed Methods to Comply with Required BMPs:
Everett Mall Plaza Parcel Ill Retail Expansion Stormwater Site Plan Page 15_
