• Meters in sizes from one-half inch•(1/2"),to two inch (2") inclusive, may be. <br /> removed and tested free of charge to the consumer once every five (5) years, <br /> and may be tested more often than once during said five-year period upon the <br /> written request of the consumer, and shall be tested in his presence in the <br /> Shops of the Water Department and a report thereon duly made. Both the <br /> parties to such test must accept the findings so made. If the test discloses <br /> an error against the consumer of more than three percent (3%) in the meter's <br /> register, the excess charge during the three previous readings shall be <br /> credited to the consumer's account and the Water Department shall bear the <br /> entire expense of the test and the deposit required as hereinafter prescribed <br /> shall be returned. When no such error is found, the person who has requested <br /> the test shall forfeit the deposit as a charge for conducting such test. Before <br /> making a test of any meter more frequently than the five-year period, the per- <br /> son requesting such a test shall, at the time of filing his request with the Depart- <br /> ment, place a deposit with the City Treasurer of the amount charged for such <br /> test, subject to the conditions herein stated, which charges are as follows: <br /> a. For testing one-half inch (1/2") meters to three-quarter <br /> inch (3/4") meters, inclusive - Five Dollars ($5. 00). <br /> b. For testing one inch (1") meters - Seven Dollars ($7. 00). <br /> c. For testing two inch (2") meters - Ten Dollars ($10. 00). <br /> d. For the testing of meters larger than the two inch (2") size, <br /> the amount of the deposit shall be estimated at the actual cost <br /> of making the test. <br /> Section 43: Single and Multiple Metered Services - Regulations and <br /> Charges. Only one metered service connection shall normally be installed <br /> to a premises under single ownership. If, however, a consumer shall request <br /> that more than one metered service be connected to a premises under single <br /> ownership and the Superintendent shall agree that the particular individual <br /> circumstances warrant such additional connection(s), the party requesting <br /> -19- <br />
