• Meters in sizes from one-half inch•(1/2"),to two inch (2") inclusive, may be. removed and tested free of charge to the consumer once every five (5) years, and may be tested more often than once during said five-year period upon the written request of the consumer, and shall be tested in his presence in the Shops of the Water Department and a report thereon duly made. Both the parties to such test must accept the findings so made. If the test discloses an error against the consumer of more than three percent (3%) in the meter's register, the excess charge during the three previous readings shall be credited to the consumer's account and the Water Department shall bear the entire expense of the test and the deposit required as hereinafter prescribed shall be returned. When no such error is found, the person who has requested the test shall forfeit the deposit as a charge for conducting such test. Before making a test of any meter more frequently than the five-year period, the per- son requesting such a test shall, at the time of filing his request with the Depart- ment, place a deposit with the City Treasurer of the amount charged for such test, subject to the conditions herein stated, which charges are as follows: a. For testing one-half inch (1/2") meters to three-quarter inch (3/4") meters, inclusive - Five Dollars ($5. 00). b. For testing one inch (1") meters - Seven Dollars ($7. 00). c. For testing two inch (2") meters - Ten Dollars ($10. 00). d. For the testing of meters larger than the two inch (2") size, the amount of the deposit shall be estimated at the actual cost of making the test. Section 43: Single and Multiple Metered Services - Regulations and Charges. Only one metered service connection shall normally be installed to a premises under single ownership. If, however, a consumer shall request that more than one metered service be connected to a premises under single ownership and the Superintendent shall agree that the particular individual circumstances warrant such additional connection(s), the party requesting -19-
