b. New Standpipes Prohibited: No new or additional standpipes <br /> shall be connected to the Water System upon nor after the effective date <br /> of this Ordinance. <br /> c. Complete Installation - Auxiliary Valve Required. A fire <br /> hydrant installation shall be considered to include the fitting at the <br /> main, the piping and auxiliary valve between the main and the hydrant, <br /> the hydrant and such other appurtenant features necessary for a com- <br /> plete installation. No fire hydrant shall be installed in the Water <br /> System without an auxiliary valve between the main and the hydrant. <br /> d. Payment For Installation and Relocations: The installation <br /> of all fire hydrants shall be done by the Water Department and full <br /> payment to the Water Department for such installation shall be made <br /> by one of the following methods: (1) Payment by a local improvement <br /> district, individual or developer shall be made in advance of such <br /> installation, or (2) payment by the Fire Department from the appro- <br /> priate departmental fund immediate)y upon completion of the installation <br /> and billing by the Water Department. The installation of a fire hydrant <br /> to be paid for by the Fire Department shall be first authorized in a <br /> letter from the Fire Chief to the Superintendent specifying the size <br /> of hydrant, location and other necessary pertinent information <br /> relating to the installation. The cost of removal, relocation, renewal <br /> or other work performed by the Water Department related to new or <br /> existing fire hydrant installations shall be paid for by one 6f the <br /> methods set forth in this Section. <br /> e. Specification By Fire Chief: The location, type, size <br /> and other related details pertaining to fire hydrants shall be subject <br /> to the specification and approval of the Fire Chief. <br /> f. Rental: For the fire protection benefit derived by the <br /> entire City from water made continuously available to the many <br /> -27- <br />
