Project: Everett Downtown Streetscape Improvement
Change Order No.1
Change Order Effective Date: October 16, 2019
mix, and to install the mid-block crosswalk with the coloring agent so that all concrete crosswalks on
Hoyt match in downtown Everett.
Bid Item# C-9—Flaggers. This bid item overran plan quantity and is being modified to account for
costs to add more flagger hours to the Contract.
New Item# C-200—Controlled Density Fill(CDF). The Contract did not include a bid item for
CDF, which is necessary when backfilling utility trenches across arterial roads to achieve appropriate
compaction without the road settling. This item is being added to account for costs to use CDF in
applicable areas.
New Item# C-201 —Ductile Iron Pipe for Storm Drainage, 12-Inch Diameter. A portion of the
storm drainage work on Rucker had conflicts with the 12-Inch watermain and had to be raised, which
meant there was insufficient cover over the top of the designed HDPE storm pipe. Ductile iron pipe is
being used because it is strong enough to be placed in shallow areas, without risk of damage or pipe
failure, and is being added to the Contract to account for costs to install 12-inch ductile iron storm
pipe.
New Item# C-202—Ductile Iron Pipe for Storm Drainage, 8-Inch Diameter. This item is being
added to avoid underground conflicts with the 12-Inch watermain on Rucker Avenue and for added
strength in shallow ground. This item is also added to account for costs to install 8-inch ductile iron
storm pipe.
New Item# C-203—Aluminum Light Poles on Rucker Avenue. The Contract allowed either steel
or aluminum light poles to be installed on Rucker Avenue, which was a mistake, as Traffic
Engineering requires them to be aluminum. This new item is being added to account for the cost of
installing aluminum light poles on Rucker Avenue.
Bid Item#D-3—Gravel Borrow, Including Haul. This bid item overran plan quantity and is being
modified to account for costs to place additional Gravel Borrow.
Bid Item#E-5—Gravel Borrow for Trench Backfill. This bid item overran plan quantity and is
being modified to account for costs to place additional Gravel Borrow in the water main trench on
Rucker Avenue and on Wall Street.
Bid Item# E-6—Ductile Iron Pipe for Water Main, 8-Inch Diameter. This bid item overran plan
quantity and is being modified to account for costs to install additional 8-inch ductile iron pipe for the
water main.
Bid Item# E-16—Water Service, 2-Inch. This bid item overran plan quantity and is being modified
to account for costs to install additional 2-inch water service line.
