CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> 1 <br /> Excavate and remove all existing soil to a depth of 2 feet below existing grade <br /> as needed to remove and install piping under this contract, and stockpile or <br /> immediately reuse these soils as trench backfill and designated as Zone A <br /> material. <br /> ' Surround all open trench areas and exposed soil with temporary fencing (chain <br /> link, orange construction fencing or suitable substitute) and barrier tape with "DO <br /> NOT ENTER". <br /> ' Haul away Zone A material the Engineer determines to be unsuitable for reuse <br /> as backfill. Disclose the originating location of any soils exported from the site to <br /> the owner of disposal site upon delivery to the site and indicate that it is Zone A <br /> ' material. Cover a II haul trucks hauling off Zone A material with tarps during <br /> transport. <br /> 2. Zone B Material <br /> ' Excess soil from the project, to be exported off site, should be taken from depths <br /> below 2 feet below grade and designated as Zone B material. Dispose of excess <br /> ' material Zone B material that is Engineer determines unsuitable for reuse as <br /> backfill. <br /> 3. Stockpiling of Material <br /> t Provide separate stockpiles for Zone A and B materials. Take appropriate measures <br /> to ensure that Zone A material does not mix with Zone B materials that may be <br /> hauled off-site. Place soil in a paved area on 10 mil (minimum) visqueen, with <br /> ' visqueen-covered earthen or straw bale berms as needed to prevent any infiltration <br /> or runoff of water. Cover soil with visqueen and sandbags or other suitable hold- <br /> downs. Surround stockpiles with temporary fencing (chain link, orange construction <br /> ' fencing, or suitable substitute), and barrier tape with "DO NOT ENTER" warnings. <br /> Maintain lined and covered stockpiles to ensure liners, covers, and berms remain <br /> intact and in place. Provide TESC measures in accordance with section 8-01. <br /> ' Alternatively, Contractor may use covered steel rolloff boxes for soil storage. Rolloff <br /> boxes shall not allow any infiltration of precipitation or water runoff from the soils. <br /> Contractor is responsible for decontamination of rolloff boxes as required by the box <br /> ' providers. <br /> 4. Non-Working Hour Site Conditions <br /> At the end of each work day, prepare the work site to the following conditions: <br /> a. Provide fencing around current trenching area. <br /> b. No open excavations or provide steel plates over excavation. <br /> c. No exposed zone A or B material. <br /> ' 5. Disposal of Derived Wastes <br /> Dispose of all soil stockpiling and erosion control material used during the project <br /> in accordance with all applicable regulations. <br /> 2-10.3(3) Submittals <br /> Submit the following to the Engineer for review and comment: <br /> ' a. Health and Safety Plan per Section 8-19 <br /> b. Air Monitoring and Dust Control Plan <br /> c.
