4 <br /> 3. A field operations plan shall be filled out by the SWAT Commander or Team <br /> Leader and shall contain information as to: <br /> • Overall situation. <br /> • Subjects involved- suspects,hostages,witnesses. As much <br /> information about the suspect as possible and a criminal history <br /> check. <br /> • Weapons known or believed to be involved. <br /> • Crime(s) committed. <br /> • Exact location of the crisis site. <br /> • Start a chronological log of activities. <br /> • Ensure that the area is contained while SWAT team members are <br /> arriving. <br /> • Ensure that negotiators have been notified and are in route to the <br /> scene. <br /> • Assess equipment needs. <br /> • Establish a TCP if not already done, a staging area and an area/site <br /> for the negotiators to work from. <br /> • The SWAT Team Leader shall pull together all SWAT team <br /> personnel,brief them and ensure that they are making themselves <br /> ready for deployment. <br /> • The SWAT Team Leader shall put together an Immediate Action <br /> Team to evacuate citizens,rescue any injured individual(s) and/or <br /> make entry if necessary. <br /> • If necessary, deploy sniper teams to do reconnaissance of the <br /> area/building involved. <br /> • Attempt to get a floor plan or drawing of the location,including <br /> entrances,locations of windows and any other information that <br /> mipjht assist the SWAT team should be made as early on in the <br /> situation as possible. <br /> • Position assignments shall be made and a verbal rehearsal of each <br /> Revised 12/2013 27 <br /> 48 <br />
