• <br /> sewers by rodding for the removal of obstructions in the <br /> side sewer line when the same can be removed through a <br /> cleanout installed for that purpose, must furnish the <br /> legal description of the property on which the work is to <br /> be done, must state the location of the sewer, name of <br /> the owner of the premises, the number and location of <br /> buildings to be connected and must be accompanied by a <br /> permit fee in accordance with the following schedule: <br /> Initial connection to public sewer $10.00 <br /> Catch basins 10.00 <br /> Repairs to side sewers or laterals 2.50 <br /> Altering existing side sewers or <br /> laterals 2 .50 <br /> Installation of drains and/or sumps 2.50 <br /> Capping sewers 2.50 <br /> Permits issued for the above listed side sewer and/or <br /> drain work shall expire and become null and void thixty y <br /> (60) days from date thereof unless a reasonable extension <br /> of time is granted by the City Engineer. Permit shall be <br /> posted at the job on which the work is in progress. <br /> All persons desiring to connect a private sewer to a pub- <br /> lic sewer to serve property which has not been charged with <br /> the costs of a local sewer by local improvement district <br /> assessment, or otherwise shall pay, in addition to the pay- <br /> ment of the $10 initial connection fee above provided, any <br /> connection charge required by ordinance of the City of <br /> Everett . <br /> Section 6: That Section 2.20. 150 be and the same is <br /> hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> 2.20. 150 Location , construction and inspection. All <br /> side sewers running from the main sewer to all buildings, <br /> lands or premises shall not be less than 30" from any foun- <br /> dation wall of any building and if there be no foundation <br /> wall , not less than 30" from the outer lines of any footings, <br /> pilings or building supports. <br /> All side sewers shall have not less than 60" of cover at <br /> the curb line, or in a public alley, 30" of cover at the <br /> property line, and 18" of cover on the private property. <br /> No side sewer which is laid generally parallel to the curb <br /> or curb line shall have less than 48" of cover between the <br /> curb or curb line, and the sidewalk or sidewalk line , or <br /> less than 30" of cover between the sidewalk or sidewalk <br /> line and the property line. All cover measurements shall <br /> be based on the established grade or on existing improve- <br /> ments or shall be approved by the City Engineer. <br /> Sewer pipes in public areas shall be not less than 6" in <br /> diameter and shall be laid on a slope of not less than <br /> 1/8" per foot . Sewer pipes in private areas shall not be <br /> less than 4" in diameter and shall be laid on a slope of <br /> not less than 1/4" per foot . Side sewers or private sewer <br /> lines connected to the public sewer system shall not be <br /> cut adrift nor abandoned without capping at the property <br /> line or as directed by the Inspector of Sewers and Rumb i ng. <br /> - 4 - <br />
