SEPA ENVIRONMENTAL CHECKLIST FOR
Beverly Park Switching Station Expansion AGENCY
P.U.D. NO. 1 of Snohomish County USE
f. Could erosion occur as a result of clearing, construction, or use? If so, generally
describe.
• Minor erosion could occur depending on weather at the time of clearing
and grading but will be controlled by temporary erosion control measures
taken during construction.
• No erosion is anticipated upon completion.
g. About what percent of the site will be covered with impervious surfaces after project
construction (for example, asphalt or buildings)?
• The percentage of the existing site currently covered by impervious
surfaces is approximately 5 % of the 5.6 acres for the project which
includes equipment pads and a control enclosure within the switching
station fence and concrete slabs/foundation north of the existing switching
station. The existing control enclosure, equipment pads and the
concrete/slabs will be removed as part of the project.
• When the project is complete, the percentage of the 5.6 acres that will have
impervious surfaces will be approximately 2.7 %. Area includes equipment
pads and a control facility within the switching station fence.
• The switching station will be surfaced with a with a 4" layer of pervious
coarse crushed rock surface with a void ratio of approximately 30% within
the fenced area.
h. Proposed measures to reduce or control erosion, or other impacts to the earth, if
any:
• Temporary erosion control measures, such as mulching and filter fences
will be used to control erosion during construction, in accordance with
State and local storm water management requirements.
• As part of the site design all exposed slopes disturbed by the construction
will be stabilized with permanent erosion control measures such as
mulching and/or hyrdoseeding prior to the removal of the temporary
erosion control facilities.
• An oil containment facility will be provided around the transformer slab.
2. Air
a. What types of emissions to the air would result from the proposal (i.e., dust,
automobile, odors, industrial wood smoke) during construction and when the project
is completed? If any, generally describe and give approximate quantities if known.
• Construction vehicle exhaust emissions and dust may be generated during
the 6 to 8 month construction period.
• The District requires that all of its contractors operate equipment that
meets all legal requirements which would include emission standards in
effect at the time of construction •
