ESA LISTED SALMONIDS CHECKLIST
Applicant Information
Name: P.U.D No. 1 of Snohomish County
Phone: 425-783-4338 (Hoson Lau)
Project Information
Name: Beverly Park Switching Station
Location: 1707 Scenic Drive,Everett, WA. 98201
Description: Modify and expand an existing switching station to add reliability
and capacity to the electrical system.
This worksheet was designed to help project proponents and government agencies identify when a
project needs further analysis regarding adverse effects on ESA (Endangered Species Act) listed
salmonids. Salmonids are salmon, trout and chars, e.g. bull trout. For our purposes, "ESA listed
salmonids" is defined as fish species listed as endangered, threatened or being considered for listing.
If ESA listed species are present or ever were present in the watershed where your project will
be located, your project has the potential for affecting them, and you need to comply with the
ESA. The questions in this section will help determine if the ESA listings will impact your
project.
The Fish Program Manager at the appropriate Department of Fish and Wildlife (DFW) regional office can
provide information for the following two questions
1. Are ESA listed salmonids currently present in the watershed in which your project will be
located?
Yes VI No I
Please describe.
The project is located in Water Resource Inventory Area (WRIA) 7 within the Snohomish
Watershed. Further breakdown of the watershed indicates that the site is located west of
Interstate 5, at the upper end the Marshland Drainage District, which eventually drains to Wood
Creek on the east side of Interstate 5, and to Snohomish River and Puget Sound.
2. Has there ever been an ESA listed salmonid stock present in this watershed?
Yes ®No Uncertain
Please describe.
Current and historically documented salmon within this watershed include chinook, chum, coho,
pink, sockeye, steelhead, bull trout, and cutthroat. However, there are no documented salmon
present within the project site.
If you answered "yes"to either of the above questions, you should complete the remainder of this checklist.
77(r22 1
J
September 1999
