City of Everett 00 7300 - 5 <br /> 2020 Biosolids Removal UT3705-11 <br /> 1.10 COMPATIBILITY WITH AGRICULTURAL USES <br /> A. City intends to apply the biosolids removed from the recirculation channel on <br /> farmland specifically selected and permitted for land application of biosolids. <br /> ' Biosolids quality must not be altered to be potentially toxic to plants, or by any <br /> means rendered unsuitable for agricultural utilization. <br /> B. City will reject any and all applications for payment for recirculation channel <br /> biosolids rendered unsuitable for agricultural utilization. <br /> C. Contractor agrees to dispose of recirculation channel biosolids rendered <br /> ' unsuitable for agricultural utilization at no expense to City. <br /> ' 1.11 CENTRATE RETURN AND EFFECTS ON WASTEWATER TREATMENT <br /> A. Contractor shall return Centrate to the wastewater treatment process stream <br /> ' using the 10-inch centrate return line. This line runs from the biosolids processing <br /> pad to the north end of Aeration Cell 1. <br /> ' B. Contractor shall monitor and minimize any scum mat, foaming or other effects <br /> from dewatering chemical side-streams. Scum mats that form at the Recirculation <br /> Pump Station or the Aeration Cells in excess of 100 square feet in surface area <br /> shall be the responsibility of Contractor to collect and dispose of in dumpster(s) <br /> provided by the City for this purpose. Any costs of controlling, adjusting, or <br /> remediating effects of dewatering side-streams shall be incidental to the costs of <br /> dredging and dewatering. <br /> 1.12 BIOSOLIDS DREDGING <br /> A. Dredging Equipment <br /> ' 1. The Contractor will provide the dredge and all necessary equipment to <br /> dredge the biosolids from the oxidation pond and the recirculation channel. <br /> Contractor should note that the dredge will have to be lifted from the channel <br /> ' to the oxidation pond, and vice versa, as there is no navigable channel <br /> between the channel and the pond. <br /> 2. The Contractor will also provide all fuel and other equipment and <br /> ' appurtenances necessary to perform and support the dredging operations. <br /> Contractor is responsible to maintain and repair any damage incurred to the <br /> dredge during dredging operations. <br /> B. 2.Spills <br /> ' 1. Any spillage of polymer, fuel or any debris or materials associated with the <br /> Contractor's activities or operations must be reported to the City's Project <br /> Manager as soon as possible. <br /> 00 7300 - 5 SPECIAL CONDITIONS <br />
