The area shall be provided <br /> with emergency lighting at each egress door from the area. The construction drawings shall <br /> specify a power complying with IBC Section 1008.3.4. See IBC Sections 1008.3.1 Item 1. <br /> Accessibility: <br /> 16.The addition contains a primary function area. Accessibility improvements shall be made to the <br /> existing building. A statement shall be submitted for review outlining the improvements made <br /> to the building. See IEBC Sections 1105.1 and 705.2. <br /> 17.The restrooms shall be provided with vertical grab bars adjacent to the toilets. See IBC <br /> Section 1101.2 and ICC A117.1-09 Section 604.5.1. <br /> 18. Exposed pipes under the restroom sinks shall be provided with pipe protection. See IBC <br /> Section 1101.2 and ICC A117.1-09 Section 606.6. <br /> 19.The women's restroom (i.e., Room"9") on the main floor shows modifications per Sheet A-1. <br /> See IBC Section 1101.2. The following comments should be addressed: <br /> a. The modifications required a minimum room width of 96 inches. Per the plan dimensions, <br /> the room is only 92 inches wide and is therefore not consistent with the dimensions shown. <br /> The design should be reviewed and revised as needed. See IBC Section 107.2.1. <br /> b. The dimensions indicate a wall-hung compartment that is approximately 54 inches deep. <br /> The minimum compartment depth for a floor-mounted toilet is 59 inches. See ICC 117.1- <br /> 09 Figure 604.9.2(b). <br /> c. Grab bars shall be provided complying with ICC 117.1-09 Section 604.5.1. <br /> 20. Signs shall be provided by all accessible bathrooms. See IBC Section 1101.2 and ICC 117.1-09 <br /> Section 1111.1 Item 4. <br /> 21.The building is subject to change of occupancy from B to A-3. Each level of the building shall <br /> provide accessible parking per IEBC Sections 1012.8.1 and 1012.8.2 Items 4, 5, and 6. The <br /> parking shall include van-accessible parking per IBC Section 1106.5 and shall be located per <br /> IBC Section 1106.6. See IBC Section 1101.2 and ICC 117.1-09 Section 502. <br /> 22.The South Elevation on Sheet A-5 appears to provide a stepped entrance. The addition space <br /> on the main floor must be accessible. The entrance shall be modified to provide an accessible <br /> entrance. See IEBC Section 1105.1 and IBC Sections 1104.1 and 1105.1. <br /> 23.The South Elevation on Sheet A-5 appears to provide a stepped entrance for the west entrance <br /> to the main floor. The addition space on the main floor must be accessible. The entrance shall <br /> be modified to provide an accessible entrance. Ramps shall comply with IBC Section 1012. <br /> See IEBC Section 1105.1 and IBC Sections 1104.1 and 1105.1. <br /> 24.The East Elevation on Sheet A-5 appears to provide a stepped entrance for the ground floor. <br /> The addition space must be accessible. The entrance shall be modified to provide an <br /> accessible entrance. Ramps shall comply with IBC Section 1012.
