Other non-load bearing walls shall be provided with <br /> connections to the slab-on-grade. All connections shall be adequate to resist out-of-plane loading <br /> per IBC Section 1607.14. <br /> Refer to revised detail 8/S3.1 showing the thickened slab detail. <br /> Gravity System: <br /> 11. This comment has not been completely addressed. The load path appears incomplete. See IEBC <br /> Sections 807.4 and 1103.2,and IBC Sections 107.2.1, 1603.1, 1604.1,and 1604.4. The following <br /> comment should be addressed: <br /> a. Sheet A-7 specifies replacement of the existing ridge beams with new PSL beams. The existing <br /> beams support existing roof joists framing in from both sides. Clarify how the ridge beam will be <br /> replaced. Details for connections between the beams and the joists and supports shall be <br /> provided in the structural drawings. <br /> This has been changed to show upgrades to the existing beam with new MC channels on each <br /> side of the existing beam.Refer to the attached supplemental calculations dated 10/29/2018 <br /> and the new detail 5 on sheet S5.1 <br /> b. The existing 4x4 wood posts supporting the existing roof will bear on new framing at the Main <br /> Floor story per Sheet A-1. The following components of the load path shall be addressed: <br /> I. Positive connections shall be provided between the existing posts and the supporting beams. <br /> Call outs for inverted CCQ post caps have been added to the framing plans on sheet A-1. <br /> II. Positive connections shall be provided between the new beams and supporting posts. <br /> Call outs for new posts caps have been added to the framing plans where needed.A typical <br /> detail for flush beams supported by multiple stud columns is shown on detail 7/S4.1 <br /> III. The post sizes at several locations are not specified. <br /> Posts not specifically called out are(2)2x members per the framing notes on S2.1 <br /> IV. Positive connections should be provided between the posts and the beams below. Where <br /> the posts do not extend through and bear directly on the posts,details showing revisions to <br /> the floor framing to transfer the loads from the posts to the beams below shall be included. <br /> Call outs for inverted CCQ post caps have been added to the framing plans on sheet A-2. <br /> V.
