The new posts from the roof framing will bear on new framing at the Ground Floor story per <br /> Sheet A-2. The following components of the load path shall be addressed: <br /> I. The northern roof post should be supported by two posts per Sheet A-1. Sheet A-2 only <br /> shows one post. The position of the post and of the supporting 4x18 beam do not align with <br /> the posts above. The framing should be revised. Dimensions coordinating the location of the <br /> beam should be provided. <br /> The framing has been update so that it properly aligns.The other post that was not called <br /> out is now called out as a(2)2x member. <br /> II. The PSL beam providing support for the northern roof post terminates at the north exterior <br /> concrete wall of the building. The beam end should be provided with a support. <br /> A concrete hanger has been called out in case the beam terminates below the top of the <br /> concrete wall on sheet A-2. <br /> III. The eastern post supporting load from the south existing roof post should bear on the PSL <br /> library door header. The post is not shown. <br /> The framing plans have been updated to show the post at this location. <br /> IV. Hanger interconnecting the beams, and positive connections between the beams and posts, <br /> should be specified. <br /> Typical hangers for all beam to beam connections are called out in the framing plan notes <br /> on sheet S2.1. <br /> d. Foundation improvements have not been provided to support concentrated loads from the roof <br /> above. Verify if new foundations are required. Details and calculations shall be submitted for <br /> review as needed. <br /> Please see the attached supplemental calculations for the existing foundations dated <br /> 10/29/2018.The existing foundation is adequate to support the proposed loads. <br /> 12. This comment has not been completely addressed. See the original comment and revised Comment <br /> 11c above for additional information. See IBC Sections 107.2.1, 1604.1,and 1604.4. <br /> Please see above. <br /> 13. This comment has not been completely addressed. The roof framing plan on Sheet A-7 has been <br /> revised and specifies both truss and 2x over framing west of the existing wall line. The required <br /> construction should be reviewed and revised.
