The structural design shall be reviewed and revised as needed. <br /> A typical detail on sheet 55.1 shows the construction of the over framing.The truss over <br /> framing will be supported by 2x sleepers nailed through the existing sheathing to the framing <br /> below. <br /> b. Calculation page 6 appears to indicate that the existing single 2x8 joists are overstressed and <br /> shall be doubled. The framing plans do not indicate double framing at the roof joists. <br /> The framing plans have been updated to match the structural calculations.Sistered joists are <br /> now called out on sheet A-7. <br /> 18. This comment has not been completely addressed. The floor framing plan on Sheet A-4 specifies a <br /> new steel beam at the existing exterior east wall. See IBC Sections 107.2.1, 1603.1, 1604.1 The <br /> following comments shall be addressed: <br /> a. This comment has not been addressed. The calculations do not include an additional 15 psf <br /> partition load per IBC Section 1607.5. The beam design should be revised. <br /> The beam has been updated to be designed with a 15 psf partition load. <br /> b. No additional comment. <br /> c. The plan appears to specify the south post as a 5 1/8x5 1/4 while the north post is a 5 1/4— <br /> square. Verify the required post size. <br /> The plans have been updated to show a 5-1/4x5-1/4 PSL,which is the typical PSL size. <br /> d. Verify that Detail 5/54.2 provides the end support condition for the W12 beam. The detail shall <br /> be referenced in the framing plans. <br /> Detail 5/S4.2 is the end condition of the W12 Beam.The call outs on A-2 have been updated <br /> for clarity. <br /> e. Continuing with Comment 18d,the following should be addressed for Detail 5/S4.2: <br /> I. Verify if stiffener plates should be provided for the W12 bottom flange. These may be <br /> required if the beam does not directly bear on the post. Note that stiffeners may still be <br /> required if the beam bears directly on the post. <br /> The beam bears directly on the post per detail 5/54.2 <br /> II. Verify the connection capacity, including bolt bearing,if the beam does not directly bear on <br /> the post.
