See note on Sheet A-1 for required illumination. <br /> Accessibility <br /> 16. This comment has not been completely addressed. The project is a Level 2 alteration with primary <br /> function areas in the addition. Accessibility improvements shall be made to the existing building. A <br /> statement shall be submitted for review outlining the improvements made to the building. The <br /> statement shall be substantiated that the building has been modified to be fully-accessible. Where <br /> the building has not been made fully-accessible per IEBC Section 705.2 Exception 1, documentation <br /> substantiating that the 20% requirement has been satisfied shall be submitted for review. Item <br /> contributing to the 20%requirement shall be directly related to work improving accessibility in the <br /> current project. See IEBC Sections 1105.1 and 806.1 <br /> The existing entrances on the site are accessible and the new exterior exit on the new addition <br /> will be accessible. <br /> To comply with Level 2 alterations,the restrooms on the main level have been modified to show <br /> accessible restroom on that level. <br /> See attached letter from Housing Authority. <br /> 19. This comment has not been completely addressed. Modifications to the women's restroom (i.e., <br /> Room "9") on the Main Floor per Sheet A-1 have been removed from the project. Verify if these <br /> improvements are required to satisfy the requirements of IEBC Section 705.2 <br /> The restrooms on the main floor will have to be made accessible to comply with IEBC Sec 705.2. <br /> Modifications are now shown on the plans on Sheet A-1 <br /> 20. This comment has not been completely addressed. Signs shall be provided by all accessible <br /> bathrooms. The location of the signs shall be specified on the plans. See IBC Section 1101.2 and <br /> ICC 117.1-09 Section 1111.1 Item 4 <br /> The location for accessible signage is shown on Sheet A-3. <br /> 21. The building is subject to change of occupancy from B-A-3. Each level of the building shall provide <br /> accessible parking per IEBC Section 1012.8.1 and 10128.2 Items 4, 5,and 6. The parking shall <br /> include van-accessible parking per IBC Section 1106.5 and shall be located per section IBC 1106.6. <br /> See IBC Section 1101.2 and ICC 117.1-09 Section 502. <br /> We were unaware that a parking plan based on the present requirements was submitted and <br /> approved in 2017 for the remodel of the apartment units. We have added the plan on Sheet A- <br /> 01. The parking meets present code requirements. <br />
