ARTICLE 3.SCOPE OF WORK <br /> 3.1 General Scope of Work <br /> Design-Builder's Scope of Work is generally defined in Article 1 of the Design Build Contract and in <br /> Article 2 of the General Conditions.The following further defines some of Design-Builder's <br /> responsibilities: <br /> 1. Documenting existing conditions prior to commencing construction, as set forth in Article 5, <br /> Section 5.11.1 of the Supplementary Conditions. <br /> 2. Coordinating utility location services with the City to verify pipe locations and with other utilities <br /> to verify power/telemetry locations. <br /> 3. Managing access, laydown, and construction sequencing to meet the requirements of Articles 4 <br /> and 5 of the Design-Build Contract, and to comply with City access requirements and Design- <br /> Builder access limitations as described in Article 5,Section 5.3 of these Supplementary <br /> Conditions. <br /> 4. Demolishing the existing East Clearwell roof and roofing supports, columns if not used in new <br /> roof design, and salvaging and reinstalling the existing baffle curtain in the clearwell. <br /> 5. All work associated with designing,fabricating,and installing a new Acceptable Roof System that <br /> meet the Owner's Project Criteria for the East Clearwell, including additional structural supports <br /> and structural work if necessitated by Design-Builder's design and/or codes. <br /> 6. All work associated with the Ancillary Features. <br /> 7. Cleaning of East Clearwell and other features in contact with potable water in compliance with <br /> applicable standards and requirements of Article 4, Section 4.7. <br /> 8. Coordinating with City staff to arrange for disinfection and refilling the East Clearwell. <br /> 9. All site restoration required for areas disturbed during construction and demolition. <br /> 10. Producing record drawings of the new work associated with the East Clearwell, including the <br /> Acceptable Roof System and Ancillary Facilities and Features. <br /> 11. Providing required bonds, insurance, and warranties. <br /> ARTICLE 4. OWNER'S PROJECT CRITERIA <br /> 4.1 General <br /> If during design,the Design-Builder determines that performance requirements are not attainable for <br /> any reason,the Design-Builder shall promptly notify the City of such determination. If the City agrees <br /> with the Design-Builder's determination,the Design-Builder shall propose a Change Order in <br /> accordance with Article 9 of the General Conditions. <br /> Materials,equipment, and components shall be selected and installed based on the requirement for <br /> superior workmanship, which relates to the quality of appearance for items such as, but not limited <br /> to, alignment and plumb of installations and construction, welds,concrete finishes, grouting, <br /> painting, and coatings (including surface preparation), and a high-quality, durable facility consistent <br /> with expectations of a long service life and infrequent need for replacement or repair.The design <br /> shall take into account the aesthetic nature of existing features so that the completed Project fits in <br /> and coordinates with the overall quality and character of the existing Water Filtration Plant. <br /> City of Everett January 29,2020 <br /> Water Filtration Plant East Clearwell Roof Replacement DB Project Supplementary Conditions Page 3 <br />
