1. Site preparation shall not damage existing structures, and shall avoid damage to existing <br /> landscaping and vegetation to the maximum extent practicable. If Design-Builder believes tree <br /> removal will be required, it shall notify Owner's Representative. <br /> 2. If any Site modifications or disturbances are required, Design-Builder shall notify the Owner's <br /> Representative prior to commencement of proposed activity for approval. <br /> 3. Design-Builder shall post appropriate signage throughout each Site identifying construction <br /> areas. <br /> 4. Design-Builder's work shall not compromise existing security measures at the Site. Design- <br /> Builder shall not damage or disturb existing perimeter fencing and gates during construction. <br /> 5. Since construction access to the East Clearwell is from the east and south,the Design-Builder <br /> should be aware of existing light poles and power lines adjacent to the site. Design-Builder shall <br /> coordinate with the City if light pole relocation is required,and with Snohomish PUD if power <br /> lines relocation is required. <br /> 5.5 Temporary Facilities and Utilities <br /> Design-Builder shall meet the following requirements at the Project Site: <br /> 1. Supply all necessary temporary office and work space. <br /> 2. Supply temporary utilities during construction as follows: <br /> • Potable Water:The City will provide a back-flow preventer for connection to a fire hydrant. <br /> Design-Builder shall make the physical connection. <br /> • Power: Design-Builder shall provide a power drop at the Project Site as necessary to <br /> accomplish the work. <br /> • Sanitary:The Design-Builder shall provide portable restroom facilities as required to meet <br /> regulations for the number of workers on-site. <br /> • Communications: Cell phone reception at the WFP is poor and should not be relied on. The <br /> Design-Builder will need to make provision for voice and internet communications. <br /> When dry work is required inside the East Clearwell, Design-Builder shall manage seepage from an <br /> existing slide gate at the north end of the clearwell. Flows are estimated at less than 5 gallons per <br /> minute.The City will make a nearby chemical drain available to Design-Builder for discharge of <br /> pumped seepage. <br /> 5.6 Non-interference with Ongoing Water Supply Operations <br /> The Project Site contains water supply facilities (pump station, pipes,standpipes,tanks etc.)that <br /> must remain operational throughout construction.These facilities operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a <br /> week. In addition to meeting the requirements of Article 5 of the Design-Build Contract, Design- <br /> Builder shall: <br /> 1. Conduct the work to avoid interference with and maintain the integrity of existing water <br /> infrastructure except as allowed under Article 5 of the Design-Build Contract. <br /> 2. Provide access to the site via main plant access road at all times. <br /> 3. Maintain City access to the East Clearwell Control Structure and Backwash Pump Station <br /> (located at the north end of the East Clearwell), which will remain in operation throughout <br /> construction.
