I <br /> 1 Personnel performing the field layout and preliminary spotting shall be proficient in <br /> I <br /> 2 the practice of striping layout, including layout and preliminary spotting of curves <br /> 3 and tapers using a rope and paint wand, proper annotation on the pavement of <br /> 4 starts, stops, and changes in line type for pavement markings, and an <br /> I 5 understanding of WSDOT Standard Plans and City Standard Drawings for <br /> 6 pavement markings. <br /> 7 <br /> I 8 9 Survey personnel performing the calculations, notes, and layout data shall be on <br /> site to answer questions regarding the layout notes as the roadway is being spotted <br /> 10 or shall perform the work. In the event a revision is required by the Contracting <br /> II 1 Agency during field layout, either to correct errors in the notes or to make minor <br /> 12 revision noted in the ordinary progress of the work, field layout shall be performed <br /> 13 by the Contractor at the time. <br /> I 14 <br /> 15 All field layout and temporary pavement marking shall be completed during the <br /> 16 same shift as the striping is obliterated by grinding or paving unless otherwise <br /> 17 directed by the Engineer. <br /> I 118 <br /> 19 Permanent pavement marking shall not begin until the layout is approved by the <br /> 20 Contracting Agency.
