www.economicalliancesc.org Other Economic Development Activities • Continued leadership of Aerospace in Action Committee • Updated 2014/2015 work plan with a focus on ensuring that Snohomish County remains the base of design, administration and production for all 777 products including the 777X; follow-on work of the AIA Committee will assure longer term sustainability of the aerospace cluster • Continued to update the Site Selector tool on the EASC website, including the city of Everett profile • Web traffic counts indicate favorable response • Assisted the City in marketing targeted areas for redevelopment • Promoted Underwood Gartland and PowderMill sites in Southwest Everett • Produced marketing brochure highlighting Everett and Snohomish County as the States' manufacturing hub • Provided leadership for Economic Development Professionals for the County and Cities Advocacy • Increase training and educational opportunities (including awareness) to satisfy skilled worker demand for all industry sectors. • Provided support to Everett Community College, making case to legislators for AMTEC funding and for promotion of AMTEC within the community to businesses and students • Continued support of WSU development efforts • Fostered unified support in region for effort by including in regional legislative priorities adopted by Snohomish County, Snohomish County Cities, EASC, SCCIT, and Port of Everett • Advocated for$10 M in funding to build new Facility at Everett CC • Supported development of WSU School of Advanced Manufacturing Training & Education Center at Everett CC • K-12 STEM development countywide • Received grant to implement STEM Education Network • Chair Everett School District— Career and Technical Education/STEM General Advisory Committee • Organizing STEM Network Advisory Committee, including Everett School District and City of Everett as members • Hosted STEM Executive Council meeting • Developed and coordinated Snohomish County 2015 legislative agenda with County and Cities • Worked closely with City of Everett and Port of Everett on agenda items • Advocated for Everett and Snohomish County 2014 legislative agenda • SCCIT/State Transportation Funding • Advocated for the North Puget Sound Manufacturing Corridor brand to better communicate our transportation needs to legislators and other stakeholders • Actively engaging legislators and other stakeholders to ensure the region's transportations • Created Transportation Advocacy marketing material, including Everett priority projects for transportation funding • Everett projects included$365M in funding for Hardeson Rd interchange, 41st Street/Rucker freight corridor, Highway 2 trestle, 1-5 carpool lanes • Organized Legislative Bus Tour of transportation projects • Tour included visit to Everett, Boeing, Pori of Everett 9
