r • t! , EXHIBIT A Task 3 —Design During the Design task, select alternatives developed during Task 2— Pre-design will be progressed to detailed design. The Design task will include several subtasks that are described below. At this time, the level of effort(LOE) required for developing nonstructural items that are related to structural seismic mitigation (such as removing and reinstalling the roofing/flooring/partition for roof/floor diaphragm) is unknown. Also,the LOE does not presently include mechanical, electrical or plumbing related design work. The LOE can be better defined after completion of Task 2. The approximate LOE for nonstructural items has been captured in Task 6—Undefined Services and will be defined in writing after the completion of Task 2. Subtask 3.1 —50% Design Development AECOM will develop a 50% design drawing set for the selected upgrade alternatives. The design drawing set will include plans, notes, elevations and typical details. Also included in this task will be the development of an outline for the technical specifications, which are assumed to be in 1997 Construction Specifications Institute (CSI)format(i.e., 16 Divisions). AECOM will also prepare 50% construction cost estimates for each selected upgrade alternatives that will be submitted with the 50% design drawings. Subtask 3.2—Design Review Meetings AECOM will meet with the City at two Design Review Meetings at the City's office in Everett. Objectives for each Design Review Meeting include: • Design Review Meeting 1 (after 50% Design submittal): Discuss 50% design and further reduce alternatives to progress (if applicable); and • Design Review Meeting 2 (after Permit submittal): Discuss Permit package. Prior to each meeting, AECOM will prepare and distribute an agenda. If there is available time after the meeting, additional site visits will be conducted, as needed. After each meeting,AECOM will document decisions made during the meeting in meeting minutes and distribute to the City for review and concurrence. AECOM will be represented by up to two attendees at each design review meeting. Subtask 3.3— Permit Package AECOM will develop Permit Package. The Permit package will have sufficient technical information for building permit purposes. Also included in this task will be the development of a final construction cost estimate. Permit assistance is not included and could be addressed through Task 6— Undefined Services. Subtask 3.4— Permitting Support The City stated that required project permit(s) (i.e., building permit)will be obtained through the City permitting department. The City will be responsible for applying for and obtaining required project permits, with AECOM providing permitting support. Permitting support will include providing information and figures for permit application(s). AECOM does not anticipate attending permit in-take meetings for this project.
