Anti-graffiti: <br /> 5. Does the contract require all 7 girders be cleaned and anti-graffiti paint applied to both <br /> Spans 1 and 3? <br /> Per Special: <br /> "This work shall consist of cleaning and applying anti-graffiti coating to affected areas of <br /> the existing bridge structure, including the East and West Abutments, Piers 1 and 2, and <br /> Span 1 and 3 girders. The work shall also consist of applying anti-graffiti coating to all <br /> exposed surfaces of the new concrete catcher blocks." <br /> This will include all girders for Spans 1 and 3. 1 <br /> 6. Will columns, pile caps, & diaphragms all need coating, please clarify anti-graffiti limits? <br /> For Span 1 and 3 the intermediate diaphragms are included. For the piers only the piles <br /> are graffitied, the pier caps and diaphragms above the piles are clear. <br /> 7. Is the contractor allowed to sandblast the graffiti off prior to rinsing and painting? <br /> Sandblasting shall not be allowed; graffiti removal is expected to be accomplished by <br /> chemical removal. <br /> All other requirements of the plans and specifications remain in effect.
