1 During nonworking hours equipment or materials shall not be within the WZCZ I <br /> 2 unless they are protected by permanent guardrail or temporary concrete barrier. <br /> 3 The use of temporary concrete barrier shall be permitted only if the Engineer <br /> 4 approves the installation and location. <br /> 5 <br /> 6 During actual hours of work, unless protected as described above, only <br /> 7 materials absolutely necessary to construction shall be within the WZCZ and <br /> 8 only construction vehicles absolutely necessary to construction shall be allowed <br /> 9 within the WZCZ or allowed to stop or park on the shoulder of the roadway. <br /> 10 <br /> 11 The Contractor's nonessential vehicles and employees private vehicles shall not <br /> 12 be permitted to park within the WZCZ at any time unless protected as described <br /> 13 above. <br /> 14 <br /> 15 Deviation from the above requirements shall not occur unless the Contractor <br /> 16 has requested the deviation in writing and the Engineer has provided written <br /> 17 approval. <br /> 18 <br /> 19 Minimum WZCZ distances are measured from the edge of traveled way and will <br /> 20 be determined as follows: <br /> 21 <br /> Regulatory Distance From <br /> Posted Speed Traveled Way III <br /> (Feet) <br /> 35 mph or less 10 <br /> 40 mph 15 III <br /> 45 to 50 mph 20 <br /> 55 to 60 mph 30 <br /> 65 mph or greater 35 <br /> 22 <br /> 23 Minimum Work Zone Clear Zone Distance <br /> 24 <br /> 25 1-07.23(1).OPTS.FR1.DOCX <br /> 26 (January 5, 2015) <br /> 27 Lane closures are subject to the following restrictions: i <br /> 28 <br /> 29 *** <br /> 30 1. At least one 11-foot lane shall remain open to traffic at all times on Mukilteo 1 <br /> 31 Blvd W. Short term disruptions and impacts resulting in temporary closure <br /> 32 under flagging operation of Mukilteo Blvd. W is allowed, however these <br /> 33 closures shall be limited be no more than 3 minutes in duration no more I <br /> 34 than once every 15 minutes. During these temporary closures, provisions <br /> 35 shall be made to allow safe and immediate access for emergencies and first <br /> 36 responders through the area during these closures. Lane closures and <br /> 37 shifts are permitted as described in the following items of this list with the <br /> 38 use of flaggers and following the requirements in Section 1-10.2. An <br /> 39 approved traffic control plan is required. <br /> 40 <br /> 41 2. Single lane closures with alternating one-way traffic are allowed on the <br /> 42 bridge between the hours of 7am and 3pm during the weekdays with the <br /> 43 use of flaggers and following the requirements in Section 1-10.2.
