• <br /> Section 3: That Section 27 of Ordinance No. 3211 , (being <br /> Everett City Code 8 . 12. 130) be, and it is hereby amended to read <br /> as follows: <br /> 8 . 12 . 130 Traffic control lights and signals--colors-- <br /> indications--free righthand turns . Whenever at any point , <br /> traffic is controlled by traffic control signals or signs, <br /> exhibiting the words , "Go," "Caution ," or "Stop" or exhibiting <br /> different colored lights, successively, one at a time, or <br /> with arrows , said lights , arrows, and terms shall indicate <br /> and apply to drivers of vehicles and pedestrians as follows: <br /> Green or the word "Go" : Vehicular traffic facing the <br /> signal except when prohibited by a superior regulation, may <br /> proceed straight through or turn right or left unless a sign <br /> at such place prohibits either such turn. But vehicular tra- <br /> ffic, including vehicles turning right or left , shall yield <br /> the right of way to other vehicles and to pedestrians lawfully <br /> within the intersection or an adjacent crosswalk at the time <br /> such signal is exhibited. Pedestrians facing the signal may <br /> proceed across the roadway within any marked or unmarked <br /> crosswalk unless directed otherwise by a pedestrian signal <br /> or signs . <br /> Yellow alone or the word "Caution" when shown following <br /> the Green or "Go" signal : Vehicular traffic facing the signal <br /> shall stop before entering the nearest crosswalk at the inter- <br /> section or at such other point as may be designated by the <br /> proper traffic authority . However, if such stop cannot be <br /> made in safety, a vehicle may be driven cautiously through <br /> the intersection . No pedestrian facing such a signal shall <br /> enter the roadway. <br /> Red alone or the word "Stop" : Vehicular traffic facing <br /> the signal shall stop before entering the nearest crosswalk <br /> at an intersection or at such other point as may be designated <br /> by the proper traffic authority. Vehicular traffic facing <br /> such a signal shall remain standing until Green or "Go" is shown <br /> alone : Provided, that such traffic may, after stopping , cautiously <br /> proceed to make a right turn from a one-way or two-way street <br /> into a street carrying two-way traffic or into a one-way <br /> street carrying traffic in the direction of the right turn; <br /> or a left turn from a one-way or two-way street into a one-way <br /> street carrying traffic in the direction of the left turn, <br /> unless a sign posted by competent authority prohibits such <br /> movement; but vehicular traffic making such turns shall yield <br /> the right of way to other vehicles and to pedestrians lawfully <br /> within the intersection or an adjacent crosswalk at the time <br /> such signal is exhibited. Pedestrians facing such a signal <br /> shall not enter the roadway . <br /> Red or the word "Stop" with green arrow: Vehicular traffic <br /> facing such signal may cautiously enter the intersection <br /> only to make the movement indicated by such arrow, but <br /> shall yield the right of way to pedestrians lawfully within <br /> a crosswalk and to the other traffic lawfully using the inter- <br /> section . No pedestrian facing such a signal shall enter the <br /> roadway. <br /> -3- <br />
