1 1 <br /> 332 <br /> August 24,1988 <br /> Councilmember Morrow asked if a member of the Chemical Health <br /> ( Awareness Team(CHAT)could be Included on the advisory committee <br /> ReYsoftTtTglrl:TTS52":214 :*"" " "'"Imemb" '"e to <br /> I 4WHEREAS, through the adoption of Ordinance No. 634-79 the <br /> City has established a Youth Advisoly Committee composed of local <br /> 1, high school youth for the purpose of providing them with a forum to <br /> 31 I express their views and provide advice to the City,and <br /> i I ' WHEREAS, the Youth Advisory Committee has not functioned for <br /> a number of years,and <br /> (- ( <br /> WHEREAS, while the Youth Advisory Committee focused on the <br /> tC 1 traditional high school setting and ages, there exist a number of <br /> • , 1 youthein Everett as well as in other communities who are not active <br /> in th ir schools or who do not attend traditional schools or attend <br /> any school at all who have special needs and concerns which would <br /> probably not be addressed through the Youth Advisory Committee,and <br /> j' 11 WHEREAS, the City should study the needs of all its middle <br /> school and high school aged youth who are at risk to determine how <br /> best the City and community can serve them, <br /> ' 11 i 1NB erre eeN2tIrtejt7R,ELGAE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> 'rrr 1' 1 A Youth Ad Hoc Advisory Committee is hereby establised <br /> which shall consist of members from a wide variety of community <br /> organizations which interface with the City's youths such as the <br /> Boy's and Girl's Club, Big Brother/Big Sister, Luther Child <br /> I f' Center, chamber of Commerce, PRIDE, Phoenix Alternative School, <br /> Everett High School, Cascade High School, Youth Resources Center <br /> Alternative School, Everett School Administration, Teen Vision, <br /> etc. Appointments shall be made by the Mayor. <br /> 2. The City's coordinator of Human and Social Services <br /> shall be the City's lead staff person assigned to organize and staff <br /> the Youth Ad Hoc Advisory Committee. Additionally, staff support <br /> shall be provided by the City's Police Department and Parks <br /> 14 I Department.
