January 17,1990 17 <br /> Jerome Cohn of Redmond said he was a developer and felt this project <br /> was a good project and urged the council to approve it. <br /> Carol Bly of 5110 Dover spoke of the wildlife that comes into her T <br /> 111, <br /> yard from the property that is proposed to be developed and spoke <br /> against the project. <br /> John McDowell of 6719 Tyee Road said his house was on the corner of <br /> Madison and Tyee and the difficulty he had getting out onto <br /> Madison. He spoke against the project because of the increase in <br /> traffic. , <br /> Richard Carruthers of Seattle felt that apartments are needed for 1 <br /> the younger people who can't afford purchasing homes. <br /> 2ge,12.g.15820 Heather spoke in favor because it was close to <br /> Bob Bickford of 1433 Mukilteo Blvd.said it was too large a project <br /> for one location and would cause traffic problems. <br /> Susan Higgins of 3408 Wave Dr.said with the increased traffic this <br /> would cause increased health problem bec6Use of pollution. <br /> TOM Howerton of 5122 86th S.W.spoke in favor of the project. <br /> Debbie 6.in0gren of 1402 51st P1.S.W.felt there should be more of <br /> a mixture of types of housing. She felt there should be more single <br /> family residences and townhouses to bring down the density. <br /> Tom youths of 4908 Harbor Cane,President of the Harbridge Community <br /> Association, said since the first meeting with the developer there <br /> have been some changes including a buffer zone,but they were still <br /> concerned. They have reached an agreement which is a recorded <br /> document but they will still be watching what goes on. <br /> Bill Mitchell of 4911 Seahurst Ave. spoke against the project. He <br /> said he was not against building but he felt the character of this <br /> neighborhood is single family detached and it should remain that <br /> way. He said the only person to enforce any developer are the <br /> citizens that live around the development. A development was <br /> constructed across from his house and no one ever came out to see if <br /> they were following the rules unless the citizens sent a letter to <br /> the city complaining of a problem. <br /> Ooh 040000 concerned ghgs''ke:F :p%ject" egotrtrg to the athetraffic : <br /> development was causing. <br /> Con ZeVenbergen of 5422 Glenwood said he shared the same concerns as <br /> all the citizens that had spoke against the project. He said he <br /> owned five acres of property adjacent to the project and had <br /> requested the same buffer as the other single family residences were <br /> buffered. He said he had requested an access easement from the <br /> Merrill Creek Project to the western plateaus of his property so he <br /> wouldn't be landlocked because of steep slopes. The staff report <br /> said he should receive the easement but between the meeting and when <br /> the agreement was signed the easement had been eliminated. <br />
