Slide presentations were given reviewing the Cede <br /> 10 program and the Silver Mountain Challenge program. Ms. <br /> France stated that PBS is considering aseries on Youth in <br /> America and are considering using the Everettprograms. <br /> RIVERDALE PARK REVIEW 0 <br /> Mayor Kinch introduced Bob Cooper, Sarah France, Linda Gough, <br /> and Ken Housden to review the "rat" problem 1n Riverdale Park. <br /> Housden reported that the problem has been declared an <br /> emergency end that crews - acting the drainage problems <br /> and the areawould be incorporated into the Park with proper <br /> landscapin. <br /> Mr. Anton Keller from the Riverdale neighborhood, thanked the <br /> City for their efforts in correcting these problems. He <br /> especially thanked Jim Shields of the Park Department for his <br /> concern and attentiveness. <br /> LOW-INCOME HOUSING RESOLUTION <br /> Mayor Kinch presented resolution for consideration in support <br /> of the adoption by Snohomish County of an emergency ordinance t0 <br /> provide law-cast housing in Snohomish County. <br /> Moved by Councilman Overstreet,seconded by Councilman Gipson to <br /> adopt a solution in support of the adoption by Snohomish <br /> County of anmergency ordinance relatig to a tywide property <br /> taxes to pay for low-income housing and placing on the 1991 <br /> primary election ballot a proposition authorizing the county to <br /> s <br /> levy regular property taxes in excess of 106 percent for six <br /> years to acquire land and providehousing Por low-income <br /> households in Snohomish County. Q <br /> Councilman Pope asked if the City would be expected to assist in <br /> Baying Pox the ballot a Jerry Vrogman, CM1ief <br /> dminietthe co Assistant,said ties City w Stl not be xequixed to <br /> pay for the cast of placing the issue on the ballot. <br /> liuncilman Gipson raised concern if lifting of the 106 percent <br /> mitation would create a funding problem as was experienced by <br /> the Library bond issue.
