CHANGE ORDER-SOUTH END INTERCEPTOR E%TENSION,.NORTH SEGMENT Moved by Councilman Diamond, seconded by Councilman Moser to authorize the Mayor to sign Change Order No. 2 for the South End Interceptor Extension, North Segment, in the amount of $103,266.89. REQUEST FOR DRIVEWAY APPROACH-6809 WASHINGTON AVENUE Larry Crawford, Public works, explained that the Everett Municipal code states that no permit for a driveway approach shall be grantedwherehere reasonable egress and ingress, for the o purpose for which the property is used can be secured from the f'\ alley. The City Public WorksDepartment Peels reasonable egress and ingress can be secured from the alley and recommends that City Council deny the crequest for drivewayssing ss Washington Avenue.' He also stated that from Galleys provides for maximizing on street parkingand uniform neighborhood front yards. Charles Runyon, 6809 Washington Avenue requested a variance from Chapter 0.16.050(4) of the Everett Municipal Cade. Mr. Runyon explained he has applied for a permit to build a new house at 6809 Washington Avenue with a driveway approach to Washington Avenue rather than the alley. His concern s that of safety and he would not have enough room for backing into the alley. He stated that the alley was very busy with traffic, as there are several businesses directly across the alley.. ncllmembers had out the impact Washington Avenue antl the conformity oP accesses in the area. Jon Dovey, general contractor, for Mr. Runyon related that there would be a blind spot if the egress was from. the alley. He also stated that like situations have beenallowed. \ A
