He also told c ilmembers that the City was <br /> unaware <br /> of the Contractor's situation when they awarded the <br /> bid. City has offered to do joint checks. <br /> Councilman Campbell expressed c and suggested that <br /> letter be written on behalf of the concern <br /> explaining • <br /> this situation so that they may give it to their creditors. <br /> Mayor Ninch said he could relate to the problem and expressed <br /> the Since needto <br /> tcontx disperse <br /> ise working an asas s project`nacrtes <br /> alpnoblM1e • <br /> felt they should be notified of thesituation here. <br /> • <br /> Councilmen Pape suggested this matter be discussed in the next <br /> Budget Committee meeting. <br /> Bob Reedy, Top Hand Fire Protection, stated they haven't <br /> received y money from the job and that they+took the job <br /> because he felt his money was safe being that it ase City job. <br /> Chuck Grouse,CHG Building Systems, said there w <br /> early as the sand meeting that they might not concern <br /> get paid. He <br /> suggested that a joint check arrangement might be appropriate. <br /> Bob Marks, Custom Iron Company, related that there was another <br /> problem in that Cascade Commercial is claiming back charges <br /> against several subs because of deiays. He stated this was not <br /> the case and felt it also needed to be negotiated. <br /> Lloyd Wickberg, Artistic Dry Wall, explained that his company <br /> was also suffering from <br /> m the same problem as the other subs. He <br /> requested the City,s help in arbitrating this end doesn't <br /> understand why Joint checks can't be issued. <br /> Bruce Jones reminded everyone that the City's contract w s with <br /> Cascade Commercial. <br /> Dave Hammer, United Electric Contractors, said the City had an <br /> obligation to terminate the job if the subcontractors weren't <br /> paid. <br /> President Gipson told the subcontractors thatontacts <br /> - regarding this matter should be through the City Attorney's <br /> Office. <br /> • • <br />
