May 24,2000 <br /> Comprehensive Plan,and is included in the Everett Parks and Recreation <br /> Comprehensive Plan;and <br /> WHEREAS,the habitat restoration and enhancement project adjacent to State <br /> owned aquatic lands ad in proximity to the proposed pedestrian bridge will <br /> provide the public the opportunity to team about salmon recovery efforts and <br /> benefits. <br /> NOW,THEREFORE.BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br /> CITY OF EVERETT.WASHINGTON: <br /> I.That the Mayor be authorized to make fomul application o the Department <br /> of Natural Resources; <br /> 2.That any funding assistance so received be used in the right-of-way <br /> acquisition(if necessary),design and.nstruction of a bicycle and <br /> pedestrian bridge across the Snohomish River between East Marine View <br /> Drive and Lenges Riverhom Park and for he habitat restoration and <br /> enhancement project adjacent to Union Slough; <br /> 3.That he City's 50%matching share for the project be derived horn capital <br /> improvement project funds,real estate excise taxes,developer contributions. <br /> the Utilities Division(limited to habitat restoration costs and paving of 40 <br /> Street SE),and other sources,U approprute,prior to the execution of he <br /> grant agree em; <br /> 4.That any property acquired with financial aid hmugh the Aquatic Lands <br /> Enhancement Account be maintained for the purpose of public access and/or <br /> habitat protection in perpetuity and in accordance with the terms of the grant <br /> agreement approved by the Department of Natural Resources. <br /> 5.That any developed facilities financed through the Aquatic Lands <br /> Enhancement Account be maintained by the City for 25 years or longer; <br /> 6.That this resolution become pant of a formal application to the Department <br /> of Natural Resources;ad <br /> 214 <br />
