Expansion of We jail facilities to meet the long-term pre- <br /> adjudication nes for County inmates with a maximum of 610 pre- <br /> adjudication beds in she Oakes/Lombard and Pacific/Wan block in <br /> addition to the County's current jail facility. <br /> The master plan will recognize that Snohomish County's planning and design <br /> work on the County's general office building will commence in a timely manner <br /> with...unction to begin sitwllaneously or earlier than the construction for the <br /> new pre-adjudication jail facilities. <br /> Further as pmt of the uodersmvdiug,the City Council supports do Mayor's <br /> recommendation that the City's 0.85 cents sales tax on construction of a new <br /> general governmental County building in downtown Everett will be applied to <br /> permitting and other project costs. <br /> AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT THE EVERETT CITY <br /> COUNCIL hereby expresses its support for the following process to implement • <br /> the understanding reach between the City and County's planning staffs,and <br /> hereby directs the Everett Planning Commission to take the following action in <br /> response to a master plan proposal by Snohomish County: <br /> The master plan will be implemented through the City's planned development <br /> overlay process. The planned development overlay process will include,but <br /> not necessarily be limited to,adjustments in current height restrictions on <br /> County-owned property in downtown Everett located between <br /> LombnrdlWamore and Pacific/Wall,and de cornu north of Wall and west of <br /> Oakes and a Snohomish County parking plan which is acceptable to the City. <br /> The design of the pre-adjudication facilities will be sensitive to the surrounding <br /> 239 <br />
