Ianuary24,2001 Resolution Na.5003 is as follows: WHEREAS,in conjunction with the extension of Everett Avenue over BNSF Hacks to Terminal Avenue(California Street Overcrossing project),California Street and Hewitt Avenue will be totally closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic and Bond Street will be partially closed where these scram intersect the BNSF Bayside Line;and WHEREAS,the closure of Hewitt Avenue and California Street at the above described locations will result in these streets being closed to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic at these locations;and WHEREAS,the closure of Bond Street at the abovedescribed location will be restricted to vehicular traffic thereby permitting continued access to pedestrians. bicyclists and similar non-motorized forma of transportation and to serve as a secondary access for emergency vehicles; WHEREAS,in conjunction with the above described street closures,the proposed new overcrosawg will provide direct access to Kimberly Clark and the Pon of Everett'a South Terminal which are currently served by three at-grade mmsings; NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVERETT that In conjunction with the Calif'a Street Overcrossing project,the City Council hereby authorises:(I)the closure of Hewitt Avenue and Califorwa Street where they intersect the BNSF Bayside Line to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic;and (2)the closure of Bond Sect where it interseus the BNSF Bayside Line to all traffic except pedestrians,bicyclists and similar non-motorised forms of transponatioa and secondary emergency vehicle access. Roll was called with all councilmembers voting yea except Councllmember Gipson who voted no and Councilmember Campbell who was excused. Motion carried. 36
