June 4,2008 <br /> Roll was called with all council members voting yes except Council <br /> Member Flatly who was excused. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> GRANT AWARD—SENIOR CENTER <br /> Moved by Council Member Affholter,seconded by Council Member <br /> Stonecipher to authorize the Mayor to sign the necessary documents <br /> with Snohomish County Human Services and the Everett Senior <br /> Center to accept the$1,500 grant award for six weeks of dance <br /> instruction to seniors and concluding with the"Baby Boomer"dance <br /> at no cost to the City of Everett. <br /> Roll was <br /> council called with all members voting yes except Council <br /> MemberHatloe who was excused. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> PUBLIC HEARING—BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT AREA <br /> President Nielsen opened a public hearing regarding Council Bill No. <br /> 0805-25,a proposed ordinance to approve a three year budget for the <br /> existing downtown BIA(Business Improvement Area)and extend the term <br /> of the existing special assessment levy for an additional year beyond its <br /> five-year term. <br /> Karen Shaw,City Administration,gave an w of the proposed <br /> ordinance. The proposed ordinary includes approval of a new three <br /> year budget,retaining the 70%130%assessed formula split and extending <br /> the current BIA ordinance for one year. <br /> Reid Shockey,2118 Colby Avenue,spoke in favor of the proposed <br /> ordinance and staled that hs success a undisputed. <br /> 170 <br />
