October 26,2011 <br /> Moved by Council Member Roberts,seconded by Council Member <br /> Gipson to concur with the appointment of Lanie McMullin to Position <br /> No.5,Everett Public Facilities District,for the remainder of an <br /> unexpired term ending December 31,2013. <br /> Roll was called with all council members voting yes. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> CITY COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Roberts thanked President Afihoke,for the changes.lie <br /> also stated that should the meeting last longer than 1:30 p.m.he needs to <br /> be excused. <br /> Council Member Boom disclosed that agenda item no.6 relates to the <br /> public schools where he is employed,however,he does not feel there is a <br /> conflict of interest but wants to make everyone aware and unless there Is <br /> some concern he will vote on the item.No one voiced concern. <br /> President Afiholter called upon Debra Bryant for some follow up <br /> comments. <br /> Debra Bryant,CAA,stated for the record,that the Everett Tribune <br /> inaccurately reported that the property tax ordinance as proposed would <br /> raise the tax on a$250,000 house by$2 per$1000 of assessed valuation. <br /> That is incorrect.Instead it will impact a$250,001 house by$2 per year. <br /> The difference being$500 versus$2. <br /> With regard to questions asked by Council Member Stonecipher last week <br /> Allan Giffen is available today to answer any remaining questions. <br /> CITY ATTORNEY <br /> Jim Iles,City Attorney,introduced Laura Van Slyck,lead attomey In the <br /> Prosecutor's Office,to talk about Domestic Violence Awareness Month. <br /> 29 <br />
