Said officers, assistants and employees shall perform <br /> such duties indicated by the name of their respective employment <br /> and such other duties as the City Engineer and Commissioner of <br /> Public works shall from time to time authorize and direct. <br /> (1.16.190) <br /> SECTION 18A: PLANNING DEPARTMENT <br /> The Planning Department shall be a sub-department of <br /> the Engineering Department. There shall be the following named <br /> I officers and employees in the Planning Department, to-wit: <br /> 1 One Planning Engineer. <br /> It shall be the duty of such employee to perform such <br /> duties indicated by the name of his employment, and such other <br /> duties as the Commissioners of the City of Everett may authorize <br /> 9 and direct . All employees shall be considered under Civil <br /> Service as Civil Service employees of the Engineering Department <br /> ; and shall lose no rights by advancement to this department . <br /> (1.16.191) <br /> kr <br /> SECTION 18B: TRAFFIC ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT <br /> The Traffic Engineering Department shall be a sub- <br /> department of the Engineering Department . There shall be the <br /> • following named officers and employees in the Traffic Engineering <br /> Department, to-wit: <br /> One Traffic Engineer <br /> It shall be the duty of such employee to perform such <br /> ' duties indicated by the name of his employment, and such other <br /> duties as the Commissioners of the City of Everett may authorize <br /> , and direct . All employees shall be considered under civil <br /> service as civil service employees of the Engineering Department <br /> and shall lose no civil service rights by advancement to this <br /> department. (1 .16.192) <br /> SECTION 19: SEWER DEPARTMENT <br /> There shall be the following named officers and <br /> . employees of the Sewer Department, to-wit: <br /> One Foreman; one Heavy Equipment Operator; one <br /> Truck Driver; one Utility Laborer 1st year <br /> The City Engineer shall be in general charge and have <br /> supervision of the Sewer Department . All officers, assistants <br /> and employees shall perform such duties as pertain to the nature <br /> of their employment and as authorized and directed by the City <br /> Engineer, and Commissioner of Public Works . (1 .16.200) <br /> SECTION 20: INSPECTION DEPARTMENT <br /> There shall be the following named officers and employees <br /> in the Inspection Department, to-wit: <br /> One Building Inspector; one Electrical Inspector; <br /> one Plumbing Inspector; one Clerk-Stenographer <br /> -5- <br />
