CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> 2-02.3(3) Removal of Existing Street Improvements <br /> 2-02.3(3)A Description <br /> The Work shall consist of the removal and disposal of various existing <br /> improvements including, but not limited to, pavements, curb, curb and gutter, <br /> gutter and other items necessary for the accomplishment of the improvement. <br /> 2-02.3(3)B Removal of Pavement <br /> Remove full depth existing permanent type pavement and driveway pavement <br /> shown on the Plans or as directed by the Engineer. <br /> Replace, at no expense to the City, existing pavement designated to remain <br /> that is damaged during the pavement or concrete base removal. <br /> 2-02.3(3)B1 Sawcutting <br /> Make vertical full depth saw cut between existing asphalt concrete pavement, <br /> to remain and the portion to be removed. <br /> Where asphalt concrete pavement overlays cement concrete pavement <br /> base, saw cut in accordance with 2-02.3(6) Sawing and Line Drilling. <br /> 2-02.3(3)C Removal of Curb, Curb and Gutter <br /> Remove existing curbs where shown on the Plans or where encountered in the <br /> Work and designated by the Engineer. <br /> Existing curb and gutter includes, but is not limited to, cement concrete, cement <br /> concrete curb with a brick gutter and a cement concrete back, or other <br /> combinations of rigid materials. Remove the entire curb and gutter section, <br /> regardless of material composition. <br /> 2-02.3(3)C1 Sawcutting <br /> Make vertical full depth saw cut between existing curb or curb and gutter to <br /> remain and the portion to be removed. <br /> 2-02.3(3)D Removal of Cement Concrete Sidewalks <br /> Concrete slabs that average four-inches or less in thickness will be considered <br /> as sidewalk removal. <br /> Protect existing concrete walk that is to remain in place, from equipment <br /> damage by using planking or cover with rock free eight-inch thick blanket of <br /> excavated soil. <br /> Provide Engineer with proposed pavement breakers before use and do not <br /> begin breaking pavement without Engineer's approval of the pavement <br /> breakers. <br /> 2-02.3(3)D1 Sawcutting <br /> Make vertical full depth saw cut between existing cement concrete sidewalk <br /> to remain and the portion to be removed at the nearest scribe marks beyond <br /> the neat line limits, or to the nearest joint. <br /> No diagonal cuts in sidewalk will be allowed unless otherwise indicated on <br /> the Plans or directed by the Engineer. <br /> 2-02.3(3)E Removal of Catch Basins, Manholes, Inlets or Sumps <br /> Excavate and completely remove the structure including, but not limited to, <br /> casting and outlet trap, concrete encasement and bricks, as applicable to each <br /> removal item shown in the plans. <br /> Jackson Park Area Stormwater Separation Division 2—EARTHWORK September 2020 <br /> WO No. - UP3703 SP—134 <br />
