CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> 5-04.3(8) Mixing <br /> Section 5-04.3(8)A1 is deleted and replaced with the following: <br /> 5-04.3(8)A1 General <br /> Acceptance of all HMA shall be under commercial evaluation. <br /> The mix design will be the initial JMF for the class of HMA. The Contractor may <br /> request a change in the JMF. Any adjustments to the JMF will require the <br /> approval of the Project Engineer and must be made in accordance with Section <br /> 9-03.8(7). <br /> Sampling and testing of HMA accepted by commercial evaluation will be at the <br /> option of the Project Engineer. Commercial HMA can be accepted by a <br /> contractor certificate of compliance letter stating the material meets the HMA <br /> requirements defined in the contract. <br /> 5-04.3(8)A4 Definition of Sampling Lot and Sublot <br /> Supplement 5-04.3(8)A4 with the following: <br /> For HMA in a structural application, sampling and testing for total project <br /> quantities less than 400 tons is at the discretion of the City Inspector. For HMA <br /> used in a structural application and with a total project quantity less than 800 <br /> tons but more than 400 tons, a minimum of one acceptance test shall be <br /> performed: <br /> 1. If test results are found to be within specification requirements, <br /> additional testing will be at the City Inspector's discretion. <br /> 2. If test results are found not to be within specification requirements, <br /> additional testing as needed to determine a CPF shall be <br /> performed. <br /> 5-04.3(8)A5 Test Results <br /> Delete the first paragraph of 5.04.3(8)A5. <br /> 5-04.3(8)A6 Test Methods <br /> Delete 5-04.3(8)A6 and replace it with the following; <br /> 5-04.3(8)A6 Test Methods <br /> Testing of HMA for compliance of Va will be at the option of the City. If tested, <br /> compliance of Va will be use WSDOT Standard Operating Procedure SOP 731. <br /> Testing for compliance of asphalt binder content will be by WSDOT FOP for <br /> AASHTO T 308. Testing for compliance of gradation will be by WAQTC FOP <br /> for AASHTO T 27/T 11. <br /> Section 5-04.3(14) is deleted and replaced by the following: <br /> 5-04.3(14) Planing Bituminous Pavement <br /> The Contractor shall call for locates before planing any HMA pavement. Any <br /> induction loop vehicle detectors which are within the planing area shall be <br /> discussed with the inspector prior to planing to see if the planing limits can be <br /> modified to save the loops. Any loops which are damaged in the planing <br /> process shall be replaced prior to the final overlay. The electrical subcontractor <br /> shall be on-call and the loops shall be replaced within 72 hours of the planing <br /> operation. Loops which will definitely be lost to the planing operation may be <br /> replaced prior to planing by placing the new loops well below or outside the <br /> Jackson Park Area Stormwater Separation September 2020 <br /> WO No.—UP3703 Division 5—SURFACE TREATMENTS AND PAVEMENTS <br /> SP- 147 <br />
