CITY OF EVERETT SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> This page intentionally left blank. <br /> Add the following sections to Division 8: <br /> 8-31 BORE AND JACK CASING AND CARRIER PIPE <br /> 8-31.1 Description <br /> This Work consists of dry auger boring and pipe jacking methods for the installation of steel <br /> casings under surface features that cannot be disturbed. <br /> 8-31.2 Materials <br /> Provide materials meeting the following requirements: <br /> Steel Casing 9-06.1 Special Provisions <br /> Casing Spacers 9-05.60 Special Provisions <br /> Synthetic Rubber Sleeves 9-05.62 Special Provisions <br /> 8-31.3 Construction Requirements <br /> 8-31.3(1) Contractor Submittals <br /> Submit all procedures or material descriptions requiring the Engineer's approval prior to <br /> mobilizing or commencing boring-and jack activities at the Site. Include the following <br /> information in the operations and design submittal: <br /> 8-31.3(1)A Shop Drawings <br /> No excavation for boring and jacking operations shall be undertaken until receipt of <br /> the Engineer's written acceptance of Contractor's Boring and Jacking plan. The <br /> plan shall include the following components: <br /> a. Schedule showing the sequence and dates for each phase of the work. <br /> b. Detailed locations and dimensions of pits and excavations. <br /> c. Description of all equipment to be utilized including thrust and torque <br /> capacity. <br /> d. Calculations showing the axial capacity of the pipe/casing is sufficient. <br /> e. Shoring design and soil excavation removal. <br /> f. Dewatering methods and calculations. <br /> g. Testing plan. <br /> Other submittal requirements include, but are not limited to the following: <br /> 1. Line and grade calculations, site layout and control system for casing <br /> installation. <br /> 2. Copies of field notes used to establish grade. <br /> 3. Material list. <br /> 4. Details on casing spacer and seal materials, dimensions and installation <br /> procedures and recommendations. <br /> 5. Method for preventing settlement during casing installation and related <br /> work. <br /> 6. Method for monitoring surface settlement, including railroad track <br /> monitoring. <br /> 7. Methods for removal of obstructions. <br /> 8. Permits <br /> 9. Identification of key personnel and their qualifications. <br /> 10.
