Where some defection is determined to be acceptable, an earth pressure based on • <br /> a value that is between the At-Rest and Active values may also be considered, as • <br /> recommended by the geotechnical engineer. Recommendations for allowable soldier pile <br /> deflections can be provided once the alignment and proximity of shoring walls to adjacent • <br /> structures has been established. The geotechnical engineer should review the shoring wall • <br /> design, and provide supplement earth pressure and building surcharge recommendations, as • <br /> appropriate. Where At-Rest Earth Pressures are applied, a triangular distribution of pressure • <br /> similar to the distribution illustrated on Plate 3 should be used. <br /> • <br /> Multiple Tieback Walls • <br /> Where deeper shored excavations will be necessary to construct the garage levels, a multiple • <br /> tieback wall may be necessary. As illustrated on Plate 4 (Multiple Tieback Wall), an apparent • <br /> earth pressure distribution should be used to design multiple tieback walls.
