RFP #2020-073 • CITY OF EVERETT PARKS, RECREATION & OPEN SPACE PLAN
Engagement: System Recommendation Stage
The focus of this phase of engagement is on sharing
visioning results and developing concepts about how to
reshape the parks, trails, and recreation system to meet
current needs, expected growth, and community desires.
We will engage around opportunities for parks in station
areas, filling gaps in the trails and park system, and other
needs and opportunities identified in the Vision Stage.
Community members and partner organizations will
identify, rank, and prioritize investments across the City. This
prioritization will identify gaps where partnership, phased
approaches, or revisions to the ranking may be necessary.
An equity lens will be an Important component of this process
to ensure that this list is reflective of the needs of the entire
community, and not just the vocal few.
Specific engagement activities will include a survey, online
or in -person workshops, additional discussion groups, and
additional interface with the Parks Board.
Engagement: Draft Plan Stage
For Pierce County Parks, BERK created an
activity to help the community decide the best
use of County resources for parks projects.
The County's wishlist exceeded the funding
available for both the near- and Tong -term, so
we created a survey and postcard with differen
project options and the task to "spend' $100
"ParksBucks" by assigning dollars to each Item
as prioritized by the individual. This allowed the
public to better understand how projects are
prioritized, and to make choices with constrained
resources across the system.
amaun,w+a.. 11W MhN.cbw
ww « w lad, p.dn pa4ids x.a a .lay
rd.114M. 11411411 r d.nn.ret hi ,Si c.,k1.a..r•.p.
ltyn deal wan w.p.a4.s, ar as dal
CuAaMghlm$inw.xw .P.a nnye l c3 '-a ervar••. Ik 4 1.4k.4v..+.4
• aalrfi <Y .awl Ib m.., •°r
a n.J0alammM0.M11awrin 04 i&. c.4—..a+...h i.Lu.,W 1..
4arn IR,....fl
lt4t1.lsa.1 tp.M .r m...a () a kat.wpm ..........IM..-. o..... »a $
IT*Ir ld Inf rmalion:
\ wW rrrl "s. r:na.m ray,
41.1 a..rw..4Vm{ no.l.,i1
.. rma
104.1.1 Knit than! b. las oar elm
... .w....
Mere.
11ins • !war •^^.r1+.1
.
