RFP #2020-073 • CITY OF EVERETT PARKS, RECREATION & OPEN SPACE PLAN <br />City of Burlington Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Plan Update 2019 <br />(Contract #R0010292) <br />BERK worked with the City of Burlington to prepare its first ever Parks, <br />Recreation and Open Space (PROS) plan, which included a vision for <br />Burlington's parks and recreation system and ideas to improve or add parks, <br />trails, and recreation programs. We developed an inventory/niche analysis, <br />conducted targeted outreach and a survey designed to hear from the broader <br />community cis well as youth and Latinx community members, and facilitated <br />a Vision workshop. Our partners conducted an ADA and features review of <br />Burlington's nine current parks with conceptual improvement ideas. BERK led <br />a charrette to develop a system plan in collaboration with Burlington staff <br />and Parks Board. BERK developed the final Plan as well as funding strategies, <br />including a new impact fee. The Plan was completed in seven months with an <br />intensive outreach program including on-line and in -person activities, <br />outreach to stakeholders, gap and needs assessment, updated vision and <br />system plan, and capital program.
