KP Roof Repairs and Roof Improvements Project Section 07500 <br /> Community Transit, ITB#2019-028 Single Ply Membrane <br /> 1.07 QUALITY ASSURANCE <br /> A. Single Installer Responsibility: A single installer(contractor) shall perform the work, including <br /> sheet metal work, as required by this specification; and shall be a firm specializing in roofing <br /> system work who has been in business under the same name and ownership for at least 5 <br /> years, capable of showing successful installations similar to the work required for this project. <br /> The roofing contractor shall be certified as an approved applicator contractor by the <br /> manufacturer of the roofing system. EVIDENCE OF SAID CERTIFICATION SHALL BE <br /> WRITTEN TO THE OWNER AND SIGNED BY THE MANUFACTURER AND FORWARDED <br /> TO THE OWNER ALONG WITH THE QUOTE. <br /> B. Installer Field Supervision: Installer shall maintain full-time supervisor/foreman on project site <br /> during times in which roofing work is in progress. Supervisor shall have experience in a <br /> minimum of two (2)roofing projects of similar in nature and scope to the specified roofing. <br /> C. Owner: Notify Owner and Roofing Consultant twenty-four (24) hours (one full working day) <br /> prior to commencement of work. The owner may provide special inspection of the roofing <br /> application. Such inspection will not relieve the contractor of responsibility for proper <br /> completion of the work. <br /> D. Pre-roofing conference: Prior to the installation of the roofing system, meet at the project site <br /> with the roofing contractor, the Owner, Roofing Consultant, and other entities interested in the <br /> performance of the roofing system. Review the requirements (contract documents), <br /> submittals, proposed installation schedule, location and storage of materials,requirements for <br /> inspections and testing or certifications, forecasted weather conditions, governing <br /> regulations, insurance requirements, proposed installation procedures, and any other items <br /> that may be required for completion of the project. If meeting ends with substantial <br /> disagreement between parties, determine how disagreement will be resolved and set date for <br /> reconvened meeting. <br /> E. There shall be no deviation made from the Project Specification or the approved shop <br /> drawings without prior written approval by the Owner, the Owner's Representative and the <br /> manufacturer. <br /> F. All work pertaining to the installation of membrane and flashing shall only be completed by <br /> Applicator personnel and authorized by the manufacturer in those procedures. <br /> G. Membrane to have no base formulation and chemistry changes in the last ten (10) years, <br /> including no changes in base polymers, UV stabilizers, and fire retardants, as certified in <br /> writing by the manufacturer. <br /> H. The supplier of the single ply membrane product shall also be the same manufacturer of the <br /> product for a minimum fifteen (15) years, as certified in writing by the manufacturer. <br /> 1.08 WARRANTY <br /> A. Single Ply Manufacturer's Warranty: Provide the owner with a workmanship and <br /> material system replacement guaranty from the manufacturer guaranteeing to correct <br /> failures or leaks which may occur during the warranty period, and does not exclude <br /> traffic expected on a roof. The warranty shall be without monetary limitation, signed <br /> by roofing system manufacturer and shall include the full system, including roof <br /> membrane, base flashings, barrier board, and flashing. <br /> 1.
