Do not use owner's dumpsters or recycling bins. Remove trash and debris from <br /> the roof and site at the end of each work day, <br /> 3.02 KP-C SOUTH CANOPY PERIMETER CURB <br /> A. Raise perimeter curb as directed by the project structural engineer(KPFF) <br /> 3.03 EXAMINATION <br /> A. Examine substrates, areas, and conditions, with Installer and Manufacturer's Representative <br /> present, for compliance with the following requirements and other conditions affecting <br /> performance of roofing system: <br /> 1. Verify that roof openings and penetrations are in place and set and braced and that roof <br /> drainage is secured and properly functioning. <br /> 2. Verify that wood blocking, roof curbs, and nailers are securely anchored to roof deck at <br /> penetrations and terminations. <br /> 3. Proceed with installation only after unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected. <br /> 3.04 PREPARATION <br /> A. Clean substrate of dust, debris, moisture, and other substances detrimental to roofing <br /> installation according to roofing system manufacturer's written instructions. Report sharp <br /> projections. <br /> B. Prevent materials from entering and clogging roof drainage. <br /> C. Complete terminations and base flashings and provide temporary seals to prevent water from <br /> entering completed sections of roofing system at the end of the workday or when rain is <br /> forecast. Remove and discard temporary seals before beginning work on adjoining roofing. <br /> D. KP-C South Shed Roof-to-Tilt-Up Concrete Wall, Vertical Joints: Temporarily remove any <br /> downspouts and/or sheet metal flashing as required to perform work (Do not remove existing <br /> prefinished gutter servicing the upper roof). Remove existing joint sealant material and <br /> backing. Clean existing concrete surfaces to receive new sealant with abrasive-clean <br /> followed by blasting with oil-free compressed air. Prepare and prime surfaces in accordance <br /> with the manufacturer's installation instructions. Install appropriate size back-up material. <br /> Install new sealant to full and proper configuration, firmly contacting joint surfaces. Tool <br /> sealant with one continuous stroke, providing concave, smooth, and uniform sealant finish. <br /> Do not use water, soap, or alcohol to facilitate tooling. Once sealant is cured, reinstall <br /> existing downspouts and sheet metal flashings, and reseal. <br /> 3.05 SUBSTRATE INSPECTION <br /> A. A dry, clean and smooth substrate shall be prepared to receive the new roof system. <br /> B. The Applicator shall inspect the substrate for defect such as excessive surface roughness, <br /> contamination, structural inadequacy, or any other condition that will adversely affect the <br /> quality of work, <br /> C. The substrate shall be clean, smooth, dry, free of flaws, sharp edges, loose or foreign <br /> material, oil and grease. Roofing shall not start until defects have been corrected. <br /> D. All roof surfaces shall be free of water,ice and snow. <br /> E. Membrane shall be applied over compatible and acceptable substrates only. <br /> Construction Documents l /j <br /> 07500-9 <br />
