RFP #2020-073 • CITY OF EVERETT PARKS, RECREATION &OPEN SPACE PLAN <br /> • <br /> ■ A strong neighborhood-based approach activated through use of the"Relay Model." <br /> Everett's neighborhoods are an important organizing structure in our engagement <br /> approach,recognizing that they may differ in their needs, desires,and ability to <br /> engage.We will engage and empower the Parks Board and Council of Neighborhoods <br /> as outreach partners.We will provide information for these partners to promote <br /> engagement opportunities via their networks and carefully prepared materials to <br /> support them in conducting their own engagement activities. <br /> The Relay Engagement Model <br /> We propose engaging and empowering existing networks at each stage of engagement, <br /> involving them directly in a "relay" around a carefully constructed flow of information. <br /> We will work with the City's Board of Park Commissioners,Council of Neighborhoods,and <br /> other business and community groups to: 11 <br /> ® Hone our engagement approach and materials. <br /> • Promote engagement opportunities via their networks,using BERK-produced messages <br /> } <br /> and communication materials. <br /> o Train them on gathering community members and accurately reporting the input their <br /> receive using our "meeting in a box" materials and user-friendly reporting tools. <br /> Engagement Stages.
