RFP #2020-073 • CITY OF EVERETT PARKS, RECREATION & OPEN SPACE PLAN <br /> C. Describe your communication method(s) with <br /> each of the different stakeholder groups. <br /> We will listen to, involve, and collaborate with a broad range of community members in <br /> Everett as identified in our Project Approach,Task 1. We will: <br /> ■ Engage Everett boards and commissions members and trusted community leaders to <br /> network with communities that may not otherwise participate in parks planning, <br /> ■ Host discussion groups with stakeholders having particular recreation or partnership <br /> interests. <br /> ■ Employ surveys and polls for the broader community. <br /> BERK has a variety of methods in our engagement toolbox for broad and diverse community <br /> engagement. Below are some project examples. <br /> Port Townsend PROS Plan 2020—All Ages Engagement. BERK developed an inclusive <br /> engagement plan, project branding and materials, and on online survey. We facilitated �+- <br /> engagement events with children,teens,and adults, both in-person and online. We <br /> leveraged the Parks Board who tabled at supermarkets and farmers markets. We -11 <br /> '`', <br /> engaged parents and students at a homecoming football game, and facilitated fun <br /> classroom activities with the middle school. Extended open houses on a weekend,evening <br /> interactive workshops,and presentations at legislative bodies were also part of the public • <br /> p opportunities. employed largeparticipation bysurvey <br /> input o ortunities.The methods em to ed resulted in artici anon (over �. s? <br /> 900),outdoor tabling (over 275),and meetings (over 160),which represents a relatively 91 <br /> large share of a community numbering 9,000. I o <br /> Burlington PROS Plan 2020. BERK led a PROS Plan for Burlington, its first ever. Burlington <br /> is a community that serves a much wider population than its city as it is a hub in an Port Townsend PROS Plan Youth <br /> —Middle School Class Exercises <br /> agricultural valley. Burlington also has 25% Latinx population.To engage all members of and Hiah School Homecontlna <br /> the community, BERK developed a logo and look of materials in Spanish and English, and <br /> developed materials that attracted participation by all including postcards for in-person <br /> tabling and recreation events, as well as online surveys.The online survey attracted English <br /> participants, postcards with similar questions attracted both English and Spanish participants.
