In addition, the anchor bolts do not appear to have adequate clear cover.
See the attached mark-up showing the intent of the WSEC-15 Section C402.2.6, and the attached figure showing
variations of the requirements. Either Alternative 1 or 2 is acceptable, though Alternative 2 may be necessary if the
foundations are not 2' deep below the slab for the entire building perimeter. For Alternative 2,the 24" dimension must
be maintained; it is not reduced for the vertical leg providing the thermal break. The thermal break construction may be
beveled at the top if preferred, but shall extend to the top surface.
Lastly, the detail shall specify a minimum thermal rating of R=10 for the insulation.
Drew Martin, P.E.,S.E.
LIImo Associate Engineer—Commercial Plans Examiner I Permit Services
425.257.8813 13200 Cedar Street, 2nd Floor, Everett,WA 98201
EVERETT Hours: Monday—Friday 7:30am-12:00pm and 1:O0pm-4:00pm
everettwa.gov I Facebook I Twitter
Note:Emails and attachments sent to and from the City of Everett are public records and may be subject to disclosure pursuant to the Public
Records Act.
From: Mark Mcllvain<markm@crmarchitects.com>
Sent:Wednesday, May 22, 2019 10:54 AM
To: Drew Martin<dmartin@everettwa.gov>
Cc:Jonathan Martin<jonm@martinconsultinggroup.biz>
Subject: RE: City of Everett Permit Services: 8417 Evergreen Way(B1805-010)-Third Review
Good morning Drew, will detail#10 be sufficient on the thermal break requirement?
inamo
CR MArchileets & Planners Inc,
is
Mark Mcllvain
Principal/Project Manager
Carissimi Rohrer McMullen Architects&Planners \
5800 Stanford Ranch Road#720
Rocklin,Ca.95765 (/
